I must say I'm more interested about which team finishes 3rd in the WCC than which driver finishes 3rd in the WDC. Maybe because I'm more of a team fan than a driver fan.

Anyway, the race for WCC P3 seems now like that:

P3: Ferrari 106pts

P4: Williams 103pts

P5: Force India 91pts

P6: McLaren 90pts

Red Bull on P2 seems to be too far ahead, a solid rest of the season should be enough for them to keep the P2 unless some team behind them find an exceptional form.

I think Williams is a big threat to Ferrari here. Ferrari is more consistent but Williams seems more capable for having some superb races. If Williams can avoid some strategic errors, they should have what it takes to surpass Ferrari in the standings. Force India might also be more dangeorus than Ferrari on suitable tracks but I doubt they can surpass the more consistent Ferrari. And I don't see McLaren getting to P3 as they haven't been too good after Australia.

After the good results in recent races, my pick is Williams, even though Montreal and RB Ring were tracks almost made for Williams. I expect usual midfield teams Williams and FI having a bigger push for WCC P3 money than usual frontrunners Ferrari and Macca who shouldn't be struggling with their budget because of one or two bad seasons.

Two weeks ago I'd have said Ferrari, but I think at this stage the calculus has changed.  Having vaulted into contention, Williams has nothing to lose and needs to make hay while the sun shines.  Ferrari on the other hand must be pretty much at the point that they write this year off to focus on rebuilding for 2015.  With all the rumored turnover in the Ferrari tech department, I wouldn't expect big leaps for the rest of the year.  Plus, I think it's far from certain that Kimi will finish the season.

Williams should already be in P2 with the car they have. Recovering to P3 should be more than possible.

Ferrari may fall behind McLaren by seasons end, but it will be close.

Force India may drop back and settle for a comfortable P5 if they can't keep pushing on with the develoments.

We might find out more this weekend when we might see the teams running without any FRIC systems.

Change this thread for 2nd place. Red Bull are catchable. Williams could be on top of them by the end of the season.

Red Bull is catchable, but it will be tough to beat them on pace alone. Williams and/or Ferrari will need both drivers in the points and some mechanical gremlins from that Renault PU.

Yeah, I agree Red Bull are still catchable. And as yet I also believe anything could happen given a boost or wrong turn of development. So, too early to say I reckon. A better idea might be had after a couple more races.

Spa and Monza felt like the races where Williams should beat Ferrari, yet Ferrari scored one point more today. Massa must rais up his game like Kimi did at Spa for Williams to have a chance for the WCC P3. Catching RBR seems unrealistic.

The poll is confusing.  Why does it allow responses for P2 in addition to P3?

Anyway, I think the final order will go:

#2 Red Bull

#3 Ferrari

#4 Williams

#5 Mclaren

#6 Force India

Willy seemed back then like with a dream finish to the season they could catch RBR for P2.
