It is a bit hard to believe, because wasn't PDVSA supposed to review its business-year to perhaps pull out of motorsports altogether?

It was just a misinterpretation (or wishful thinking of some people who don't like Maldonado) of some words of one man from Venezuelan government, he was rather referring to backing of all that Venezuelan drivers among feeder series. I've never believed Pastor would run out of backing before the end of 2015.

Doesn't like a driver, so wishes 500 people loose their jobs.

It doesn't work like that. Most of the Lotus' employees are qualified engineers. They'll have no problem to find a good job elsewhere.

This is the greatest news since Marc Gasol won defensive player of the year.

So you are saying that bc nor Bottas nor Grosjean nor Hulkenberg nor Sergio haven't won a race they are worst drivers than Maldonado ?

No, but he's no worse. I certainly don't believe he's as bad as many make him out to be.

Is he a future champion? No, probably not. But, in a more competitive car than the ones he has been in for the past two years, can he be a front runner, finish on the podium, and occasionally win other races? I don't see why not.

god I hope Lotus fold for this.

What a truly idiotic post. So, you hope people lose their jobs, just because they hired a driver you don't like? :drunk:

Could I have some of that weed you're smoking? Or perhaps directions to the fantasy land you live in?

There are only a limited number of jobs in racing, especially in F1. Qualified engineers are not a particularly valuable commodity, especially when the market gets flooded when a team folds........And the Lotus guys don't have much recent success to point to either. The plucky, underfunded team myth was busted last year when it became clear the team had overspent to keep up with the big boys. So they would be just more F1 guys looking for a job, just like the Caterham bunch and from any other team facing some downsizing.......And if they switch to another discipline, they'd face competition from the engineers in that market...
