Safety first in the Sauber case. Marshalls running across track is never safe. Felt like they wanted to let the gaps stay as is and not affect the positions. Thatd be a stupid reason. Safety car should have came out. Another 'break' for Rosberg, hes got all the luck. Aside from Hamiltons overtakes and the Alonso Ricciardo battle, it was a normal race.

So, by allowing the cars to maintain there honest positions that were earned during the race thta is a break for Rosberg.

Yes, much more "racey" to allow cars to artifically catch back up so that they have a second chance.

Was the absence of the safety car a problem? Not really. The car wasn't in dangerous position, in fact Hockenheim main straight is quite wide and all the drivers passed the car numerous times, so everybody was aware of the situation. There wasn't any debris on the track, too. That's why the safety car wasn't deployed.

Didn't they say that about Montreal?

Indeed.

That is why it came as no surprise to many of us that HAM was leading that race when his car broke down.

[EDIT] Are the Santander trophies really made by children? If so, they’re still exceptionally ugly and a logo-but-nothing-else for a trophy still has no place on any podium, but that would kinda make it very cool.

(Unless of course I’m missing the obvious joke of them being made by children… in Bangladesh!)

Lost me at the Senna/Prost bit... I'm sick of hearing that. They're not Senna and Prost. It's Hamilton and Rosberg. Lets live in the now, instead of the past. Remember, the kids watching the racing these days need their own icons too.

I thought the 1:20.7 was fast and then looked up lap record:

1:13.780 (2004).

Bloody hell.

See, this is the thing that pisses me off about "modern" F1, How the **** can the cars be 10 years more advanced, and 7 WHOLE seconds slower per lap? At least back when we had the Exhaust Blown DDD, the RB6 was breaking lap records. But now, Even on low fuel, and fresher tyres at the end of the race, they're barely 7 seconds a lap within the lap record? Sad sad state of affairs man. I know the older drivers that raced with the v10s (Alonso, Kimi, Button, Massa) must miss it like crazy but arent really allowed to slag the new formula. Hell even the v8s with refueling and grooved tyres couldnt have been this bad compared to this. It's only F1 in name nowadays.
