NASCAR really needs to work on its physics.  You can't wallride twice per lap every lap in real life.

Oh shit I missed Eldora! :(

Any reason why they don't hold it on the Friday or Saturday? NASCAR afraid it'll be too popular?

I don't know who that is but it seems unlikely being compared to a man named "Fuzzy" is ever going to be a compliment.

And Carl Edwards... YOU... ARE... OUTTA HERE!

Gitterdun

Now that Edwards is officially out of Rousch and is obviously going to JGR the question becomes...

How the hell are they going to pay for that. Hamlin is covered, Busch is covered, they need a replacement for Home Depot with Kenseth(Dollar General pays most of the season I think) but a 4th car with Edwards level salary? TRD must be spending CART-sized money again.

With that lineup, some extra $$$ can't be that hard to raise.

Yeah but you need $20mil more for the 4th car, a bunch more for Edwards salary, and you have to pickup the Home Depot deficit. They need an extra 30-35mil basically*

*Toyota Bucks will be a huge part of that.

What is the point of interviewing somebody who watches his first NASCAR-race with 35 years while a NASCAR-race?

ESPN=Owned by ABC

ABC=Owned by Disney

Disney=Owns Marvel

In short, it's all about in-house promotion, but I suspect in the UK it will be better known as "the movie where the Dr Who chick got shaved"

Now this is interesting, a bit off-topic but, the Sporttv people are mentioning that Rick Mears tested for Brabhanm in the 80's, aparently his gauge was Nelson Piquet.

Dollar General have upped from 27 to 30 races for Kenseth, that leaves only 6 outstanding.

Plus Edwards is among the most marketable drivers, I can't see it being too much of an issue to find sponsors for him

Are you enjoying Michael Waltrip yet? No? Well, just wait until you've watched 8 years of him telling you why the track NASCAR is at this weekend produces the best show for the fans. You'll warm up to him.

Not only that, but it was somewhere like Willow Springs in California. I assume pre- post- Long Beach or something?

Partly correct.

A quick google search has revealed two sites, Riverside (pre-Long Beach), where he was faster than Piquet Sr. and Paul Ricard where he was slower.

The man himself seems to have confirmed it:

It was nice of Montoya to let us know from the first few laps that this was the race to fast-forward through.

Happy that JG won, but I have to say it's fairly rare for me to say categorically that the F1 was considerably more interesting than the Nascar.

Seemed today a bit like 2010 F1 - watch the start/restart & then wait for the stops.

It's a shame Hamlin's strategy didn't pan out, that would have made it more interesting to see how it panned out.  Didn't think Kahne stood too much chance if it had stayed green, I think JG just had too much today.

Well they've been keeping MWR afloat for years. Maybe they've wised up and will divert more of that cash to JGR. Given that Toyota outspends every other manufacturer, I'd agree with you that TRD is probably footing most of the bill for Edwards.

An ok race today, but its not like Indy is known for great stock car races. Gordon was hooked up today though. Kahne may have led the most laps but that 24 looked the best all day.
