Last time I remember Briatore put on a great show at Singaporean GP.

On a serious note, he's the right man for this job (I hope I won't eat my words later).

If Bernie is looking for people, who are able to bring "out of the box ideas" to the table, then Flavio is the right man in the commission. Whatever this "out of the box thinking" may mean in this instance - probably more circus though... but seems Bernie likes circus, so it is a match made in heaven.

As for Flavio as a person, less said the better. He was a proven criminal already before getting involved in F1.

Big #F1 summit in London today: Ecclestone, Mattiacci, Horner, Wolff & Fernley discussing how to improve F1 show. Briatore also invited.

The problem with this lot is that they're all a jaded pack of 1% or nearly 1%'ers.   What might seem "new and exciting" to them might be incredibly goofy, and they're likely to be numb to the more visceral aspects the Common Punter might want.  Simply impressive sounding, beautiful and powerful cars that aren't running out of fuel on the first lap?

... and as I pointed out elsewhere - none of them are going to be thinking "hey, if the show was actually more affordable more people would come".  The only thing on their mind is "what kind of gimmick can we come up with that will negate the economy of charging insane ticket prices and limited television coverage?".

It would be like a painful boil on the bottom of their feet to broach that notion.   I expect more silliness and obfuscation of rules and regulations.  They should go down the pub and buy everyone a round of drinks and open the floor to them.

Poor F1.... :|
