Am I the only one who thinks Williams will be the better team next year?

First half of the season, probably.

Ricciardo is being flattered by the RB? Seriously? the guy has won two races against the most dominant car since the 90s while racing against a 4xWDC.

I think Ricciardo has been great this year, but his two wins "against most dominant car since the 90s" wasn´t exactly achieved by beating those cars in straight fight without any issues for any one of them, was it?

I know most people appreciate winning no matter how, but what´s the use of saying he beat "most dominant car" if that car has reliability issues etc. If Ricciardo had won two races against Mercedes in races where both Nico and Lewis had started from the front (like they do if there is no issues) and ran a normal race where mech. fails weren´t slowing them or had them DNF, then it would be great. As it is now, he was merely best of the rest who took his chance as "dominant cars" had issues.

I agree with you but he still had to work for the wins even when they had problems which to me is still impressive. I don't think any driver/car combination would be able to beat the Mercs in a straight fight tbh. The gaps they have on the other cars in races both in qualifying and race trim is too much to overcome and frankly the Mercs should be 1-2 every race.

When you think that Canada he still had to pass Perez to win whereas Vettel could not do the same to Hulkenburg, or Massa could not take advantage of his fresher tires/engine advantage (something which Ricciardo did in Hungary). Come Hungary yes he was lucky with the safety car but he still had to work for the win (31 laps on the softs during his second - same as what Alonso was lauded for in his final stint but on heavier fuel - you will see that Ferrari on the Friday practice runs that Ferrari were thereabouts with RB in terms of race pace) and then having to overtake Hamilton/Alonso with the inferior PU but fresher tires at Hungary. Both good wins which he worked for.

In the end I do not think it is pointless especially in regards to the comparison with Bottas. IMO, the Williams especially recently have a far better chance to beat the Mercs than RB have all season long. I would be more impressed if Bottas took a win off the Mercs and that would be more justified IMO in putting Bottas up there in the top 3 for the season. At the end of the season if it reads 18 wins to Merc and 2 to Ricciardo, that would be some achievement, irregardless of how he won it.

I can understand you view, even though I don´t myself rate his wins any more special than coming third behind two Mercedes in normal race. Anyway, I appreciate Ricciardos driving so far this year, excellent race craft. To me Ricciardo is best driver of the season so far, followed closely by Bottas.
