Two drivers sharing the same car in a single session.. is that a first, at least in recent history?

If you mean the chicanes they've had that tarmac for a few years now.

Not sure if it's been like that for sev years but those narrow and short strips of astroturf/tarmac areas everywhere around the circuit are as disappointing as parabolica tarmac..

The Hammer with two full arms of opposite lock - and the bit between his teeth. Fark me...... He nearly took the Ascari backwards!

Ant and the gang saying that Monaco may have been deliberate after all..........

ant was being sarcastic

No he wasn't, he said after the things Rosberg had said after Spa he wasn't sure if Monaco was a genuine mistake anymore

ant was being sarcastic

I don't think he was - aided by the fact that he went on to quite a further explanation.

He was defo being sarcastic about the ability of Nico to have the "ability" to be a surgeon to Hamilton's tyre.

Ant has long been suspicious of Monaco and that has merely been heightened. Nico refusing to deny the whole "prove a point" affair when Ted questioned him on it.

Nothing like a villain :smoking:

This track will show whether Red Bull's blame on Renault were right or not. This is a power-dominant track where RB were struggling in 2010 and 2012, so if they can be right in the leading pack here, the deficit of 60 HP was just a naughty lie. 60 HP means a loss of about 1,4 seconds. There is not a single magical rear wing which makes up that time even when it is designed by a certain Adrian Newey.

I always doubted that and I think that blame was just another nasty, cheeky move which usually makes RB unsympatethitc in many people's eyes.

Why were Williams so far down the order? I half-expected them to nick a win this weekend.

Always slow in FP1. I think they're going to creep up on Mercedes come Q3.

What happened?

With Ericsson? Once again beaten by someone new to the game. OK, Lotterer had done some testing, but still.... Ericsson just isn't nearly good enough, so it's a shame for the sport that he has such substantial backing.

Didn't see FP1 but were they still running basically all 4 wheels over the white line at the exit of the..........Ascari chicane I think it is (can't remember, but it's the one that leads onto the straight heading towards the Parabolica)?

Hasn't that been the case for awhile now though? I'm not sure but I think they get away with it.

Yeah it's been the case for donkeys years, just wondered if they'd done it this year as well or if they hadn't as they'd been told (but the public hadn't) that you're not allowed to do that otherwise times will be disallowed/penalties will be given in the race.

This just highlights the problem of turning the FIA Sporting Regulations into Charlie Makes Up The Rules. The regulations are very clear on this, but sadly the reality leaves a lot of room for manipulation interpretation.

Anyway, given the conditions it might be a little early to judge both the speeds and the laptimes. We'll see how things turn out tomorrow, but it doesn't yet look very impressive.

I seem to remember them being told they can't go over the line last year or the year before. Haven't heard what they are doing this weekend but I don't think they will be allowed to set a lap in quali with all four wheel of the track there.

As long as it doesn't end up with Nico leaving Monza with 54 points advantage.

Every single car putting two thirds of the car over the white line on the exit

Utter, utter garbage

When was the last time anyone crashed there, now they can use more track, cheat more, take more.

Is this racing or a simulation.  Really odd decision

I think he is only using it for practice, but seeing as it won't even start maybe not so good news.

I wouldn't put it past Merc to keep the cars far away from each other in the race.. Slight problem or pitstop delay for one car.. Although I hope not.

Yeah it sucks but better to have the issue in practice than in the race. ...if you have to have them at all.

A point I myself have espoused in the past, but at some point the competency of some of the mechanics on that side of the garage have to be questioned. Too many simple issues to be merely luck, and yet again it hands the momentum to Rosberg, and after Hamilton was a good 0.8 tenths ahead in FP1.

Thats ridiculous... Imo both should be free to race, and when contact is made thats up to the stewards to decide how to approach. But I guess im in them minority?
