I gather Lotus used the site during the 60`s, the airfield lease was not renewed by the land owners due to the local authority identifying it as a site for 700 new houses. The land owner sensing big money removed the argument that the aerodrome was something worth fighting for as a useful source of jobs and pleasure for the users and locals.............Martin
