A few pics from an excellent Charity Lunch at The Swift Gallery in Stoke yesterday, September 18th. Hosted by Andrew Swift and his hardworking crew, it was all in support of The Henry Surtees Foundation. David Brabham entertained us all after lunch. If the Bentley 8 pictured here had been added to the charity auction, Andrew estimated the starting bid would be £7.1 Million.

Another excellent afternoon from Andrew and what an excellent speaker David Brabham proved to be. His tales of Le Mans at night made me realise why i could never be a racing driver. I did like the advice his father gave him: more throttle, less brake

And that advise was given on the grid in his first race! So much for fatherly protection.

Great day.

Very entertaining table.

Not bad for a superb gallery in the middle of a Fenton Industrial Estate.

Andrew Smith has done a tremendous job.

Thanks for the photos, John. Sorry I couldn't join you for lunch but hope to be at the next evening in October. Looks like a goodly amount will have been raised for the Henry Surtees Foundation  yet again. Indeed, three cheers for Andrew and his team's efforts in organising this splendid gallery.

Somewhere close on £6000 from the auction, plus the ticket money. I was hoping the Bentley 8 was going to appear as a Lot, but I wasn't going a penny over £6.5 Million if it did. Looking forward to the next quiz night Alan, hope to see you there, JohnP

My post should have said Andrew Swift.

My neighbour at the dinner drew my attention to my lack of attention to detail! thanks John for sorting me out and sorry about Filbert St today or whatever they call it.

It was a very present afternoon in Stoke on Trent

The gallery is very special and I wish Andrew lots of success in future.

One of the TNF mob should talk Doug Nye into doing an evening as he is very good value .

Thank you John, Filbert Street is long gone, like United's defence, regards JohnP

At last weeks lunch we were told to expect a statement regarding David Brabham's future plans, and "Project Brabham"

Congrats to Andrew on what looks like another splendid event. Good to see the local car on show.

I'm preparing a list of wrong answers for the October event, hopefully see some of you there. :)
