Does anyone know of any new circuits being planned/built in Scandinavia, including Finland even though it does not count as Scandinavia.

Building hasn't started yet, I think, but I believe it was given Grade 2 rating already.

Finland will never have GP class track again - even if Sambian ex-president's widow would pay 32 million euros to track promoter Markku Ritaluoma.
We live in society of flowerhat people here in Finlan which thrives along whining, complaining, jealousness and evil minded actions.
You put track middle of nowhere and there's soon some odd people crying a loud about noise and blaming track owners about endangering family of flying squirrels.
These complains will halt any plans for years. And eventually government refuses to give any enviromental permissions on that due some green party member in government could hurt her feelings.
If such miracle would happen, it will not be profitable enough to keep going on without bankrypt. Logistics of event would not work because our routes are not planned on such big events.
In free world like Sweden and Norway this could be possible. Never in Finland.

In Norway, where our own, state owned oil-company, have a policy to not support motorsport, because it's not good for the environment... And at the same time 'we' have invested in F1...

Denmark, no. Too damn small, nowhere to put it, and a lot of tree-huggers spoiling any fun, as I recall it (I left 20 years ago, I'm happy to report)

Yeah, I was actually glad that the track didn't get the state funding it wanted, because now 4 million can be used for somithing more useful, like healthcare.
And yes, GP class track in Finland would be useless, because there will never be a GP in Finland.
Enviromentalists are funny. They complain how stuff like racing circuits and airports threaten wildlife. Well, the flora and fauna at the swamp in the middle of Ahvenisto circuit haven't suffered. And Malmi Airport, which is under threat of closure, has a small population of birds living there (can't remember what bird), that doesn't live anywhere else in Finland. But yes, they suffer. They suffer so much...

Sweden will never happen. You'll need state funds and permits, and as the enviromentalists have much power here that'll be hard.

We will see.
The VIking guys has been at it since 1998 and sometime this fall the final appeals will be handled. Nothing points to anything other than positive news. Even though we now have a government with green idi*ts in it...
They have a very strong backing from the local politicians and that will help them in the end, i think.
And no state funds afaik. It will be located less than one hour drive from Stockholm (today nearest race track is almost three hours away) so i don't think funding will be a problem.
It will be about 30 minutes away from where i live. I will buy me a fine Porsche by then

Fjord Motor Park close to Haugesund on the west coast of Norway is a project getting more and more real - with a 2,7 km track.
Hopefully we can drive there in 2016.

Denmark has at least two active circuits-saw then in action this weekend on TV-Padberg & Djurland? Anyone know if Roskilde still exists@ last used for F1(non-championship) in 1962?
Sad that Finland has no racing having provided 4 world champions

Hi Roskilde Ring closed down in 1968 and is today a city park. Roskilde have a gocard track by which Magnusen's (jan and kevin) have used lort of time on. Picture can be seen here http://www.circuitso.../en-US/roskildeDenmark has at least two active circuits-saw then in action this weekend on TV-Padberg & Djurland? Active track in Denmark. We have Jyllandsringen, Ring Djusland, and Padborg Park...The Danish Touring car Championship, is moreover driven at streettrack in connection to e.g. historical car racing in Copenhagen and Aarhus, but the touring have this year used track in norway. other years they have been in Sweden an neatherland (Zandvoort).
Regarding talk about new tracks in Denmark, have tje more realistisk been a track near Esbjerg on the West coast of Denmark. For some weeks ago, the where som complain from motorsportsfans, as it seam that the politican have forgot they have promis a track... (sorry have not followed it so much)...
Ps :I nearly forget that LeMan is nearly a danish race track ;-) if we see at the number of fans as procent of population ;-))
Best regards from Copenhagen..

I saw unreleased plans of a major reconstruction at Anderstorp that would bring the venue to a high european standard. However it was just plans and illustrations and probably will never happen.

Rudskogen, not F1-race ready track, but built to be able to host F1 tests, the big PR-thing there was Schumacher buying into some percent of the shares. Harald Huysman is the guy behind it all, former World Sportscar driver in the 80's, almost F1-driver, and former manager/helper of Button, Raikkonen and Neel Jani - now, he's advising Dennis Olsen.
