I started to follow this PitLaneTalk guy some time ago, but it really seems to me like he is only fishing for attention. The way he writes his stuff and reports thing, I don't know. Unfollowed him now.

Ron must have reminded him about the F1 LM he'll give Lewis if he wins 3 titles with the team. I believe Lewis has demanded 3 P1s just to re-sign and a 12C for every race he takes part in.

Fernando must be chuckling to himself with all the speculation he's started.

Maybe he had big smile because he knew that McLaren-Honda won't be challenging them.

It would be hilarious if this were true and alonso went to Mercedes, and then next year's McLaren turned out to be more dominant than this year's mercedes  :stoned:

I think the dominance of the Merc is "locked in" for this current iteration of rules...... unless they throw away their current concept like McLaren did with the '27........ which they wont..... because they're not that stupid.

All of you are pushing off from the fact that Vettel has signed a contract with Ferrari. But why they have not announced it yet? What are they waiting for?

What if Vettel has signed a contract with Mercedes? German driver (who is also a 4 times champion), German team, it is going to be a dream team for Germans. Seriously, only huge amount of money could force Vettel to betray RB in favor of Ferrari and Ferrari don't have such money. At the same time, Mercedes do have such money, but they don't need them as considering their shape Vettel would be happy to join them anyway.

If Vettel joined Mercedes and they have not announce it yet, it means that they have not yet decided who should be kicked off. Hamilton has started negotiation with Ferrari, and lately with McLaren (as a plan B). With new Ferrari management, Alonso was told a simple formula: "Hamilton in = Alonso out". So now Alonso is in a little panic seeking for options, and the main option for him is McLaren.

My guess:

Vettel -> Mercedes

Hamilton -> Ferrari

Alonso -> McLaren

They still can be caught in 2-3 years just like McLaren in late 90s and given their reliability record even with speed advantage we could be provided with an open championship battle not only between mercedes drivers. Assuming they are not miles ahead with 1-2 guaranteed for all trouble free races.

Yeah but nor Ferrari nor Vettel have backed that up with an official statement.

Don't forget the Bianchi situation might have pushed their announcement back by a week or so.

I think these guys are more reliable than F1today:

Our source Also confirms that Fernando's team next year will be powered by an Engine (so Caterham is out of the circle) and running Pirelli.

I agree that it will get closer.

But given the stability of their concept and the fact that they're no longer adhering to the RRA that Red Bull so ruthlessly didn't - they're probably gonna clean up. Ergo, Fred running around with his hair on fire.........

McLaren is defo spending big though. "The place to be" for engineers at the mo.........

Reasons for Lew to leave Merc
Rosberg
Doesn't feel at home

Reasons for Lew to rejoin McLaren
No more Button
No more Whitmarsh
Wants to be like Senna with Honda and Alonso his Prost
Will probably have 2WDC and will want a fight to the bitter end with Nando for who gets the third.

All fantasy of course, he'll stay at Merc and reveal his true worth once the others catch up.

CH does love to bullshit. But I cannot see why he'd bullshit about that. It serves no purpose.

I'm going to open up a website and make the best possible case for Vettel to move to Caterham next year to see if it gets a thread here.

That's a nice theory but when both Hornsr and Marko ( not to mention Lauda) say he's going to Ferrari I'm inclined to believe them

BREAKING NEWS

According to a reliable source believed to be a senior hydration engineer at Caterham, Hamilton visited the factory a number of times in the recent weeks. Further investigation involving a senior waste disposal technician at the factory confirmed that a number of meetings have taken place in the factory conference room with the senior management. It is believed that Hamilton will be driving a Caterham in 2015.

Okay, enough.

On a serious note, please do not start threads announcing driver moves without sources, and without being a hell of a lot more sure about it than here.
