Kosmos, thank you for your effort

I feel that this is a perfect visual metaphor for the way some of the users looked at the events of the 2014 season:

And this is my usual reaction to some of their theories and opinions:

Good thing it's all over now. Bye

If there are no doubts that Alonso is much better than why the need for the laundry list? the list was created to diminish Alonso's success over Kimi.

the problem is that some people have an issue with giving any explanation to Kimi's struggles

Point proven.

With all of the commercial breaks we get here in the US I had actually missed Alonso overtaking kimi on track before he went to the pits..

I actually thought he had leapfrogged him in the pits.

Alonso post race interview

Nothing much to add, except that I hope he is not about to adopt a volleyball as his new best friend.

What a shame for Fernando to end his time at Ferrari with such a weekend. Worst weekend of the year I think, tied with Bahrain probably. Being passed by Force India's in the end....just tragic. Only part of the race that was enjoyable was Alonso's pass on Kimi around the outside, very nice move.

1. Australia: Kimi is right behind Alonso until the SC pitstop when a lot of cars split them due to Kimi losing time in the double Ferrari pitstop. DRS / KERS problems in the race also.

2. Bahrain: Kimi is right behind Alonso. DRS problems.

3. Spain: Kimi is right in front of Alonso until the team decides otherwise (Note: Kimi also outqualified Alonso despite Alonso having an illegal KERS boost)

4. Monaco: Alonso is squeezed at the start losing positions allowing Kimi to be ahead of Alonso (+2 places) and going for the podium until he is crashed by another driver.

5. Canada: Kimi is right behind Alonso by the first pitstops and they exit the pits @ 9 & 13 (Kimi was screwed)

6. Austria: Kimi is 5-6 secs behind Alonso (running @ #5 and #7 - with Magnussen slowing down Kimi). Kimi is hanging up extremely well, given that he is told to not drive fast due to brakes and other stuff, and then, after the first round of pitstops, they exit at positions #7 and #14. Ferrari left Kimi way too long on used tires. Kimi's GP is screwed.

7. Hungary: Ferrari destroy any chance of a decent Kimi qualify by preventing him to go out in Q1, against his wishes. Kimi goes from 16th to 6th in the race posting laptimes competitive to Alonso in clean air.

8. Spa: Kimi has horrible FPs. In the race he is right behind Alonso prior to the first pitstops when Alonso is handed a penalty through team's fault. Alonso's GP is destroyed due to the 5s penalty and Kimi ends up much further ahead.

9. Monza: Kimi is right behind Alonso in the race prior to the first pitstops. After the pitstops Alonso loses pace and Kimi overtakes him. Alonso DNFs shortly thereafter with ERS issue.

10. Singapore: Kimi is matching Alonso on qualify but his chances for qualifying higher than Alonso are gone when the car "glitches" in Q3 for his last attempt - following all sort of problems in Free Practices. Kimi loses only 2 positions relative to Alonso and in the race he maintains that gap until the pitstops when his Ferrari is undercut by a slower Williams. Kimi spends the entire GP in dirty air, being affected by tire degradation problems and consequent performance dropoff.

11. Russia: Kimi matches Alonso on Q and Race pace but his race result is affected by a squeeze at the start.

12. USA: Kimi has problems finding a proper setup all weekned. He is crashed in lap 1 in the back with no apparent damage. He is right behind Alonso (<3s) in the first stint (softs), doing similar laptimes. After the first pitstop, tires appear "inconsistent" with extreme and inexplicable degradation in the second (medium) and third sets (softs). The difference in the third set is massive (several seconds per lap) despite Alonso having locked his tires early on and having vibrations on his own soft set. Kimi is passed by pretty much everyone and is then forced to do an extra pitstop.

13. Interlagos. Kimi is running ahead of Alonso on a -1 pitstop strategy but an earlier pitstop mistake by his pit crew (dropped front jack) cost him more than 5s. He gets besides Bottas and Hulkenberg, losing further time, and in the end he is overtaken by Alonso - who finished ahead of Kimi by 1.8 seconds.

14. Abu Dhabi. Alonso experiences engine issues in FPs and Qualify, getting outq by Kimi as a result. In the first stint Kimi experiences severe degradation and is overtaken by a few cars including Alonso. In consequent stints the pace is ok and Kimi finishes right behind Alonso (p9 & 10, just 2 second gap).

Where Kimi didn't appear to be competitive:

1. China (no FP prep),

Where comparisons are problematic:

1. Hockenheim (Kimi started on different strategy / hard to say about pace as he got crashed twice and left with the broken wing all race long),

2. Malaysia (Kimi crashed at the start - damaged car / no comparisons possible),

3. Silverstone (very early Kimi DNF - race pace cannot be compared),

4. Japan (very early Alonso DNF - race pace cannot be compared).

So out of 15 GPs that can be compared, in 14 Kimi has shown competitive race pace usually prior to his race being screwed by some factor like a crash, a pitstop etc. His qualify pace was lacking significantly though, more often than not.

Legend, mate, you're a legend. Or a provocateur. I don't know which one suits you best.

I'm waiting for your posts next year.
