There was a 24 year gap in ages between the winners of the 2014 Bathurst 1000 - Chaz Mostert (22) and Paul Morris (46). Does anyone know what the record is for the largest age difference between co-drivers in an endurance race?

I can't call too many examples to mind this early in the morning, but I didn't imagine that to be a record, particularly if you are not looking specifically for winners.

First possibility that came to mind was something involving Bob Wollek… and I find that for Le Mans 2000, one of his co-drivers was Lucas Luhr - age difference - 36 (?) (albeit not making the end of the race).

Either of those two might possibly have competed in (or won) other races or classes with much younger/older drivers.

Matt Griffin (born October 1st, 1981) drove with oldest ever Le Mans driver Jack Gerber in 2013 (born March 4th, 1945).

That's quite a big gap (36 years and roughly 7 months), but as noted I looked for the oldest Le Mans driver and then at his teammates. It's very possible there are bigger gaps to be found.

In fact he is even one year younger. (Source)

Check some of Elliott Forbes-Robinsons last races or James Weavers and you may find an answer. They both had long careers and were known for mentoring younger drivers.

Did Henri Pescarolo have any young team-mates in his later years?

I suspect there is a lot of teams with bigger differences. Winners are different though.

As a team I suspect that Jim and Steven Richards were of similar age.

Dick and Steve Johnson too.

Or Bo and Glen Seton in the Capri whom I think were class winners

I found an entry in the 2007 24 hours of Daytona for Elliott Forbes-Robinson ( age 63) and Graham Rahal (age 18), for an age difference of 45 years. Their other teammates were Shane Lewis and Randy Ruhlman.

Henri Pescarolo competed in the Spa 24 hours in 2000 with a Leinders as a teammate. If this was Bas Leinders, He was 25 while Pescarolo was 58, leaving only a 33 year age difference.

Dick is 29 years older than Steve, but couldn't say ref the others.  Certainly Jim and Steve Richards would be next behind Mostert/Morris in terms of teamed Bathurst results, having podiumed together in (IIRC) 1997...

Paul Newman competed in the 2005 Daytona 24 Hour race at the age of 80. One of his co-drivers was Sebastien Bourdais, who was a few weeks short of his 26th birthday.

Paul Newman was my first thought too when I read the thread title but my Google-fu wasn't up to scratch when it came to looking for co-drivers' DOBs.

Gunnar Jeannette is three years younger than Bourdais and he raced with Newman at Daytona in 2004.
