Hi Geoff
I hope you and John made full recoveries after that crash.
I remember that race really well. I was leading on my GSXR 1100 and was totally unaware of the crash that happened behind me[was it lap 2 ?] until i came on it a full lap later. I remember that the red flag could only be put out at the start line [AFTER I HAD GONE OVER THE LINE] so so was totally unaware that the race had been stopped. i had continued at race speed until i saw the waved yellows at maggots on the approach to Becketts. It was carnage with all the bikes littered every where ,and at the time didnt realise it involved my two mates.and a few more.
I visited John a few times in Northampton hospital afterwards and retired myself that year having won a few championships I still hold that old silverstone club circuit lap record as far as i believe. Think i had reached my level but your crash certainly had an impact on my decision to call it a day.
