Just aren't enough seats for this to work. We know drivers can go on until their mid 30's at least and they're starting younger and younger.
Or you could have compulsory retirement for the drivers who have been there the longest (or maybe not).

All this would do is take the shrinking pot of sponsor money and pump it into the feeder series'. Why would Sutil/Hulk/Grosjean/etc. spend all that money trying to impress in a midfield car when a season in a top GP2 car could see them driving for the WCC a year later?
You'd kill off all of the mid-grid teams in one fell swoop.
And what if the third driver really impresses but there's no seat available in the main squad the following year? Then what do they do? Take a step back to a midfield team, having to pay their way again after a year of salaried, front-running glory? Or just drop back to GP2 again in the hope they get to rejoin "their" team again a year later?
What if a Ferrari Academy driver wins GP2 and ends up in a Mercedes? Does he just get to take all those secrets away with him to give to the Scuderia?
What if a driver who strings together a great season in GP3 suddenly becomes a liability in an F1 car causing millions of pounds worth of damage and lost constructors points?
It's just completely unworkable.

I think the idea is sound as long as we are only considering 1 or 2 feeder series. Basically the winner guaranteed 2 season (1st season in the 1st WCC team, 2nd in the 3rd if we are talking 2 feeder series). After that, if they impress, then some teams will pick them up. If not then they're out. I wouldn't mind a RB or Ferrari driver driving to another team because that is also currently happening. If the 3rd driver impresses, I'm sure a team will pick him.
The point is we need to give the winner a chance to drive in F1. Yes, even if someone won on their 4th or 5th season, he should be given the same chance. Again, if he isn't good, then he will be out from F1.
It might be difficult to impress, though, as team orders would likely have them down as driver #3 from the outset.

maybe so, but they coud still show their class in qually or by following their "olderĀ£ team-mates while showing that they can at least match them
All I'm saying is that there needs to be the ability in F1 for the winner of the lower categories to get there with certainty rather than as in the last couple of years where they've just disappeared
