There has been a lot of discussion around Colin Kolles two projects. With Caterham on the verge of collapse, will Kolles switch his interest to a team that is supossedly (from a F1 racing interview) ready to compete next year?
Will Forza Rossa Replace Caterham in F1 Next Year?

Caterham I would be amazed at this rate if they make it to the grid next year, Forza Rossa? no idea, but from what I read before they are targeting 2016 so...

F1 as whole should create some sort of socialistic program for the newcomers and poor teams to survive and be more competitive, because in F1 succes is money and money means succes and new teams dont have money so they cant achive succes so they cant get to money and this rolls a few years and then its over as we see with Marrusia and Caterham. I personaly dont support the idea of 3 cars per team.

No. More chance in JHSingo Racing lining up on the grid in Melbourne.

I am going to say no, simply because I had never even heard of this Forza Rossa team prior to today. Maybe I'm just really out of the loop.

The actions of the Caterham administrators in securing the company's assets seem to make any plot by Kolles to spirit away the Caterham assets and rebrand them as Forza Rossa less likely.
So the 'Neither' option looks more and more to be right.

Given that Kolles track record in F1 includes HRT (gone), Midland (gone), Spyker (gone) & Caterham (going), I don't hold out a lot of hope that Forza Rossa is going to be a great success.
At best, he seems to be someone who never has quite the plan to make it work.
At worst it all looks a bit iffy, from that alleged blackmailing affair with Toto Wollf to the strange motivation to try and "save" Caterham, whilst entering a new team...
I think F1 needs to take a bit of responsibility here with some sort of fit & proper persons test. One of these days its going to emerge that a team is owned by a criminal gang or something.

Am I the only one who is embarrassed by the concept of a non-Italian team with an Italian name? I know that Forza Rossa is the actual name of the parent company (which is Romanian), but it just sounds so try-hard.
They should change their name to Vigoare Roșu F1 (thank you Google translate) or something.

Ferrari are part of Fiat Chrysler Automotive, which is now a Dutch company....

Such as the Bahrain government.
As to Forza Rossa, I'll have to say I bloody well hope not. F1 should put some effort into luring big, serious teams that will bring something to the championship not these shady salesmen and wannabe team bosses.

What's the interest for any major manufacturer or racing team? GT and LMP racing is much more relevant and cost effective for them.
F1 is becoming increasingly disconnected from the real world with farcical staff levels and costs.

Forza Rossa? What a laugh.
Not a chance they'll be on the grid.

They might buy some of Caterham's assets from the administrator. I'm not sure how competitive the 2014 Caterham would be in 2015.
Presumably there will be changes to the engine management and control to improve the cars performance. Would Forza Rossa be in a position to develop the old car so that it can benefit from the engine changes?

Who is behind Forza Rossa?
Supposed to be Kolles + some Romanian investors, but with the recent Caterham debacle, the honest answer is... "who knows?".

To enlighted maybe a few, not necessarily you, A.Fant (wihtout having read further down the thread): Romanian is basically ancient Italian, i.e. Latin, with a few hunded years of neutral development. Romania is named after Rome.
So it's not so very weird.

Correct.
But if Orange Co NV took ownership of McLaren tomorrow, would that make Dutch? Would it make them any less British in the short term?
Not really. Who owns the shares on a particular day does not really influence the DNA of a business, least of all one as big and redolent of Italy as FIAT. The Dutch just have deep pockets because they discovered a load of oil wealth in the 1970s and because they plan well and, most of all, because they are ruthless when it comes to business.

The fact that Kolles is now into Caterham strongly suggests that Forza Rossa is a 'vapourteam' (to borrow heavily from the geek parlance).

And yet Red Bull, a British team founded by a proud Scot, are apparently Austrian.

If things go on as they are, they might replace Caterham, Marussia, Sauber and Force India

Think that is true for every single thing we ever talk about in this forum. Time to close Racing Comments?

But that has agerade happened. I give you Bernie Ecclestone and CVC who own all of it.

The Dutch don't own FCA, but the company is registered in the Netherlands, so it is a Dutch company, just as McLaren, owned by some Arabs amongst others, is registered in the UK and is therefore a British company.
