If later today Autosport would announce that Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Ricciardo, Bottas, Rosberg and Kimi will drive Indycar next season - which series would get most attention?
All at once would no doubt bring a lot of viewers over to that other series, but one by one? I wouldn't be so sure.
How many McLaren fans started watching NASCAR because Montoya started driving in the United States?
The drivers leave one by one, get replaced, and F1 goes on - for better or worse.
The funny thing was that I'm pretty sure WEC were driving faster lap times on some of the same circuits as F1 was visiting last year, for instance Bahrain.
I don't think that is true.
