Gentlemen

Tony Matthew's show of some of his cutaway art is now on.

Open until Sunday 02/11/14, 12 - 2 pm and 6 - 9 pm daily.  The venue is The Barn, The Victoria Pub, 1 Ickleford Road, Hitchin, Herts SG5 1TJ. The venue, as the address suggests, is at the side of a traditional pub where food and drink is available.

I have just visited the show where Tony is showing about a dozen of his stunning artworks of cars and engines.  Although only a small display, its well worth visiting if you can.

Regards

David

Awkward hours but I'll try to get there - it's only three miles or so.

IIRC it's a PRS ;)

Best wishes for your show Tony sorry I'm marooned in the West Country this weekend, let us know of any future events and I'll pencil them in

Look out for this wee wedge-shaped Pub Laddie

PS I love the way the privacy software has obscured the Queens picture

Noticed that, too!

That's pretty useful architecture for a pub: when it's time to go, and the going get's somewhat difficult, the design is such that you are funnelled towards and through the exit - good job!

Well worth visiting if you're near the area - though seemed to spend more time chatting with the artist than admiring his work.

Beer's good too :)

I didn't have much time today (and have none tomorrow) but I am so glad I went along to see Tony’s fantastic work this afternoon.

Astounding is an understatement. Nobody has captured the detail of racing cars in “modern” times like Tony. I seriously doubt that anybody else would be even capable.

The stories and backgrounds to the drawings are compellingly fascinating as well and I have to hope that he puts at least some of them into book form one day.

I would go back again tomorrow if I could…

Beer is good here too, if that improves the chances of an Antipodean tour ...
