Hi Folks,

Sorry for being a one time poster, but have been lurking for a while.  I see names pop up that might be able to help with my question.  Does anyone know much about machines ridden by Gregg Hansford early in his career.  I have been led to believe that he may have ridden a Kawasaki A1R at Surfers and possibly at Bathurst.  Say around 1970-72.  Also may have  ridden a yellow Kawasaki A7  that  may have been ridden or prepared by Bill Robinson.  Be very keen to hear if any of this rings true with anyone that knows.

Many thanks

Ray

Hello Ray,

Gregg was riding Yamaha's before joining Neville Doyle and the Kawasaki team. He rode small yammies before receiving his first TZ750 in the early 70's sponsored by Annand and Thomson in Brisbane. He did ride a Kawasaki H2 with Warren Willing in the Castrol 6 Hour, they were disqualified with an hour to go whilst leading the race by a few laps, the officials said that the tire was unsafe. To prove a pont, both Gregg and warren went back to Amaroo on the Monday and completed two+ hours at race speed on the same tire. Greggs first Kawasaki was a H2R.
