So if Hamilton has a power unit failure in Brazil, forcing him to use a 6th one, would he still have to start from the pits in AD?

If he is forced to use a 6th of all parts then yes (however if it is only a failure of the ICE for example and the other parts are reusable it will (just) be a 10 place grid penalty.

Also, didn't realise Ham was dating that popstar way back then, I thought the celebrity stuff kicked in a year or two later. Is she still around?

It only became expedient to find a woman to blame when Hamilton started performing badly.

#F1 #BBCF1 #INTERLAGOS Front frm S brings showers Fri PM, with Sat looking v wet. Further showers/rain Sun, esp. AM. Fri 32C Sat 28C Sun 23C

Sounds like even if it somehow stays dry for all on track action throughout the weekend, the temps will drop markedly.

Or so.... ;)

But his sector times were A-OK just a lap before. Makes no sense  :drunk:

That is called racing on a deteriorating wet track with worn grooved slicks.

I really like wet and mixed weather races, provided that Race Control actually lets the cars race.

I saw Fuji 2007 recently and I must say I miss those races. Run on full wets for the entire race.

We dont get wet tyre races anymore. Wet tyres are only used for SC starts now.

Make fun all you like. But you are not the one held under ransom ;)

Anyway, me saying "Nico wins this one" is the modern day equivalent of Martin Brundle saying "D.C will win the title next year" :smoking:

Just make sure you say it! I don't think the above counts :D

We saw the effect in reverse at Silverstone in Quali this year. Cars found 4 to 5 seconds over their previous laps during just the last quarter of the lap when it dried just enough to make the tire fully effective.
And it seriously caught Hamilton out!

We are experiencing a very long and sad drought and believe it or not this is the first rainy week in months.

A bit hard to tell from that angle, but have they also reprofiled the final corners on the way up the hill, where there have been some fatalities in recent years?

Looking forward to a 'race' behind the saftey car if its wet.

I assume it will be an 18 car grid again? ):

Theyve also added more run-off at Turn 2, affecting the pit exit slightly.

Typical knee-jerk reaction from the FIA again, barely 14 years after the incident.

Oh I prefer this grid way more. The Caterhams n Marussias are an embarrassment to the sport.

A couple of posts removed. Please don't make posts about how you're hoping that a driver crashes or otherwise fails to finish the race, it adds nothing and even sometimes comes off as trolling. Discussion by PM if needs be.

Wouldn't mind that, what with it being an evening race. I was away last weekend so watched qualifying and the race back to back on Monday afternoon/evening and had a great time

Just thinking if it's a really wet race behind the SC for long periods we could have a half points race. The last race would be worth x4 of the Brazil race

Or it rains so hard they cancel the race, and then we get a weirdly semi-justified double-points finale. :stoned:

Any drivers that might be taking a penalty this weekend for engine changes?

Ricciardo/Alonso?  Alonso ran an old engine last week didn't he

In Brazil FIA can wait much longer. Sunset at ~19:30, quali time is 14:00. Comparing that with the Suzuka race: 15:00 start, ~17:30 sunset.

The chance of rain for quali start is very high according to weather sites, but it doesn't look like that the rain will last for hours without breaks.

Odds of raining to the point of delaying anything much are small IMO. There was a initial thunderstorm on Monday and it's been overcast and on and off drizzling  for most of the time since then.

Perfectly changing conditions

Shock, horror: Perez still hasn't learnt a thing.

While Perez said he felt bad for Sutil, he added that he does not believe he made an error in making the move. "Obviously I don't think I made a mistake," he said.
