I can see Manor finding a buyer. I can't see a buyer for Caterham unless the Administrators manage to reduce the debt, otherwise there is no equity in the business and thus no value.

I guess maybe having an entry for 2015 might help attracting a potential buyer - otherwise the only assets you have are a bunch of last-years cars and equipment.

Good news, as long as it is true and it lasts all season. The last race was distinctly sparse.

Glad to see them going back to the Manor name. Should have been that since '10.

Manor, that's the coolest name we've had in F1 for a long time.

This is exactly the point. Them being on the 2015 entry list means absolutely nothing (other than they managed to get on it). The point about this effort is to attract a buyer. If there's no buyer, the team will not be racing in 2015.

Manor was the name of the entry, but it have never run under the Manor Motorsport/Racing/GP/Whatever it is banner.

F1 entry cost $250 000 each. So the must have administrator must have found that money from somewhere. Interestingly there is no Forza Rossa on the list.

Maybe Kolles is still hoping to get Caterham and rename it??

The article about the Caterham entry (http://in.reuters.co...N0SV6SW20141105) states that the fee is not due until Nov 30th.

Do you know how much the debt of respectively Marussia / Manor and Caterham is then?
Caterham has more staff but they also had more price & tv money.
But you don't know if Marussia has more debt as Caterham or oposite.
What complicates the situation at Caterham is the conflict between Fernandez and the new owners. Because of that reason I think Manor / Marussia will have a bigger chance to make next year's grid.

I remember some time ago there was a suggestion that Marussia and Caterham should merge for the team(s) to survive. Is this still anyhow conceivable?

I would think that there is little chance of any team merger. As far as I Know Caterham's debt is around $35 millions, with 10 millions of that in the form of a loan from EXIM bank. The rest is debt, which as the Americans say ' is a deal breaker'.

Technically would've they be on the entry list by default until they don't pay the entry fee?

the bills would be about the same so unless a pay driver is found to pay most or all it wont happen

I do remember that there was a report about kolles saying that he had already paid the shipping for the last few races so he could have a ace card when in talks the the administrators

the cost may out weigh the gains but after the nov 30th payment deadline  there is no licence if no payment is met they will just end up like HRT if they are greedy

I don't believe this is the true cost I think its just a renewal fee of said licence

I suppose we'd laugh if a Swiss team rocked up calling themselves "BHS GP".
