So here's where we get a little unusual.
I'll have an MP4-20, possibly the most beautiful (in my opinion) and easily the fastest F1 car ever, with either Honda's 2005 F1 V10 *or* the LM-AR7 that sat in the back of their 2009 LMP1 car, just because it made the most amazing sound.
I'd prefer to drive the thing, but failing that, each of the past WDCs get ten consecutive flying laps around Spa, then Suzuka. The two with the quickest average lap time across both tracks get the race drives. (Alonso isn't invited; I don't feel like putting up with him. If it makes you happy, imagine he is.)
I'd prefer to manage the team, too, but failing that, I figure Roger Penske would do a pretty good job of it. If I need designers to evolve the car then I'll put Newey, Chapman, Murray, and Byrne in a box together and tell them not to come out until they've agreed on something. Race engineers? Probably a few people I know personally; not familiar enough with any except Rocky or Smedley, and I'm not sure I'd like either of them.
I'd prefer to run the thing in the early 2000's, as that's the MP4-20's native era, skipping back and forth between CART and F1 with an entry in the Indy 500 just for kicks as well as in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with some closed-wheel modifications a la Red Bull X1 (thanks Adrian
). The end of the 'low, wide, fast, and aggressive' era; good times.
In case you haven't figured it out, I want to be an owner/driver someday.
