I really like Interlagos as a track but it's on at an awful time for the Aussies=/
It will be interesting to see if the Mercs have solved any performance problems they encountered in Austria due to the elevation/air pressure.

From the looks of it this will be a dry day.

Will be interesting if there's little or no dry practice running and then they have to tackle qualifying on the new surface with little data.

Austin was 7am (in Sydney/Melbourne at least), whereas Brazil is 3am.

I'm in Melbourne but tbh I prefer the 3am start as it means I won't have the kids crawling all over me and I'll get in to work on time

Wonder if we would get any running in FPs if it is raining.

My favourite circuit and favourite race of the year... As long as Lewis is on the podium I'll be happy.

I'd love a non-Merc win though, I'm bored to death of watching the silver cars cruise around lap after lap zzzzzZZZ

I absolutely adore this track.

While a non Merc win would be mostly different, that in itself wouldn't make the racing exciting.

Actually at this stage of the season, after so many Merc wins, I think it actually would.

They weren't cruising last time out. Crusing would be something akin to 2001, 2002 or 2004 where the number 1 driver would build up a lead of 20-30s over the first half of the race then cruise the rest, maintaining the gap. You know, the glory days of F1.......

All the systems are approaching EOL - will we get the much predicted reliability gremlins, or pit lane starts, or 5+grid demotions...

JB unlucky that his car has cut out already, but lucky he was almost into the pitlane so at least the team can work on it.

Mercedes is more then a second ahead on this ultrashort lap. That is abnormal. Sorry to say that, but even my dog would win in that car.
The midfield will be very close as usual.

Mercedes could drive from the back, and would still win. What about the engines, wasn't there a rumor Lewis will change something, will they do it?

Are they testing Bernies spark generators this weekend?

I was not expecting lap times to be in the mid 13's on FP1.

Mercedes being a second faster that Kvyat's Toro Rosso in the first half of FP1 is hardly representative of their pace over the field

Yep

Marussia are gone, 'ceased trading'
Will they still get the money if they hold onto 9th place

Don't believe so. They will have broken their contract by missing races.

vestappen's steering is very unstable/reactive compared to other drivers - somewhat like Alonso's.

Why do these cameramen always ZOOM IN SO MUCH in some shots (e.g. Juncadella crash)? You can't even see the whole car.
