Doesn't that make it finish AFTER the race in Abu Dhabi?

 

Well it was't like they were going to get all of this crowd funding money in their accounts before the race anyway.

 

Whoever is behind this already has enough money to let them race in Abu Dhabi, they just want other people to give them that money back afterwards.

If they can raise the difference, there's nothing to stop them paying it into the crowdfund (although then the crowdfund company would take its 5%, but maybe they could do a deal on that).

 

What I'm interested in is how crowdcube even know that Caterham have got that extra money from somewhere else.

 

From what I see so far, its a crowdfund effort with a target, and the crowdfund starter is telling crowdcube "I know we didnt reach the target, but we totally got extra money from elsewhere, honest, mate. trust us.  Hand over what you've got so far."
