They don't give a sh*t about the teams, the sport, it's heritage and most of all, they don't give a sh*t about you, the fans.

This article:

Appears to suggest that a threat has been made during a recent meeting that F1 & CVC will be reported to the EU regarding it's financial dealings. In particular the way the sport revenue is being spent and distributed. The smaller teams appear to be fighting back.

Not sure if this is the thread for this, but it's the most recent one I could find related to costs/the crisis:
FIA president Jean Todt mounts new bid for Formula 1 budget caphttp://www.autosport...t.php/id/116932
(...) "On the agenda I will again put reducing the costs," said Todt, speaking publicly for the first time since Marussia and Caterham hit trouble.
(...) "I am happy saying that everybody in life must accept not being too rigid, so we are going to present the different stakeholders, and the Strategy Group, with the same proposals that were refused before.
(...) "The average price of the engines is $30 million, which is too high," Todt said.
"They went roughly from about $18 million to $30 million, which is too much - as it is a 70 per cent increase on top of everything.
"I am going to fight about the price of the engines for the small teams in order for them to have a more affordable situation.
"I will do the best I can. I cannot guarantee the results but I will get into that."
That doesn't sound very assertive or confident from Todt, but at least he's trying something. I bet an overall budget cap won't happen, but he'll get the teams to agree on a cap for the engine price only, as a compromise. And that would be a start.

Well Bernie is doing a much better job than Kim Kardashian at breaking the internet and minus a huge ass!
Meanwhile in other news we landed a space vehicle on a Comet!

He is 84. He has not said a single helpful thing over the cost crisis, has just kicked people in the teeth when they are down. He has, however, been indicted for bribery and paid a fortune to get out of that. He gives every sign of only ever being interested in money.
Why has he not been removed ? CVC obviously have neither sense nor balls.
All very sad.

Why is Bernie still around ? Why has he not been removed ? Maybe he has a job for life with CVC ?

Why would they get rid of him? He's delivered for them and there's no indication that he will not continue to deliver for them in the future. Whilst Bernie might be (certainly in my view) ruining F1 from a sporting point of view, it's still (at the moment) working from a business point of view.

Maybe not get rid of him, but at least control and limit him more. Nobody lives forever, so it might be a very good idea starting to groom a replacement under his wing. Otherwise, when the old boy finally decides to leave for greener pastures, everybody will scratch their heads.
Regarding the business point of view...well, yes, CVC got their money this year too. Good business on a short time level. But the business model is not looking particularly healthy now. Sure, they can continue just the way it is now, and kill their golden goose with rapid profits, or they could bend their financial expectations a little bit (before s**t hits the fan) and make sure they still have a decent grid to carry on with.
