Ah yes, the smile before I found out I'd been paying £6 a pint haha.

£6 a pint??? What of gin?
No not even for rum - just some quite interesting beers. Actually not really outrageous prices for Central London (outside of basic pubs or the House of Commons bar).

Scary, it's just under double most places near me. Sounds like it would be good for my waistline!

Ahh..the old Pussy Cat Dolls story..here ya go then.
So, back in 2007 I was the Technical Director for Baz Halpin on the Christina Aguilera "Back to Basics" tour.
Quite a few of the 130 crew members were interested in racing and would religiously watch all the series via any means possible.
Baz and set designer Butch Allen even stuck in a few racing related gags to keep us interested on this long and arduous tour.
The opening act for this tour was.. The Pussy Cat Dolls!! They got short shrift for a year and a half of the tour and had a scant 15 minutes to set up, sound check and fix "dance" moves - which pretty much reminded us of Pole Dancing - before they were thrust on for their 20 minutes of fame. At the end of the tour Xtina said she wanted them to join her for the Nasty Naughty Boy number. The choreographer Jeri Slaughter and I decided the best time to rehearse this was early morning before things got too hectic so we arranged to get the girls on stage at around 8am. Needless to say on weekends 8am is race hour in the USA and by that time we had it together enough to broadcast the feed to our big screen. Well, during one of the rehearsals (while pre recorded interviews were being shown) Nicole turned around and asked me.."Who is that cute guy on the screen?" I said "it's the mercurial Lewis Hamilton, the hottest racing driver on the planet." She turned back to the dance rehearsal saying.." I think you're right about that"
She had a different hot in mind.

Good to hear you all had a top time.
Are any other non-attendees playing the same game as me - trying to work out whose who by process of elimination?!!!
Think I'm nearly there!

The boozers I normally frequent, as a central London worker of some seven years' standing, must be of the "basic" variety, then...
Seriously, though, I'm prepared to pay a premium on my pint if the place is offering something other pubs aren't, and as I mentioned above, pubs that do F1 as well as Jetlag are a real rarity.

Not sure if the lighting in the group pictures will allow you to spot it, but at least one of the attendees is effectively wearing his avatar....

Ahh, the profile says born 1965 so I wasn't sure on that one (there's a backhanded compliment ). Should have concentrated on the "scottish" clue !
So, that's cleared up which one Sophie is then, I think...
This is a great game!

Chill, its not important JP, just some idle fun.
I've been careful not to actually say who I think anyone is, btw.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who wanted to put a face to the names! In case I go to any future gatherings and you're trying to identify me when I walk in, I look like this...

Swings and roundabouts I guess, on one side, great WiFi, on the other finding a F1 team cap that fits is tough...

That's a reflection on the quality of those that attended I reckon... I'm convinced based on some comments and replies I've seen on the forum that some posters are not from this planet.
