Talking of Weitmann, there is a three volume set

http://www.amazon.de...julius weitmwnn

of which the first volume contains almost exclusively Weitmann photographs..and now reduced in price..(the second one contains photos of Hans Peter Seufert , also agreat German photographer. The third is modern stuff)

What a fantastic set of photos.

The photo tagged with Reims 1957 Lotus Eleven is (if I'm on the right path) actually July 59 Reims French GP meeting. When Jack Brabham bravely tested the T51 streamliner. Pretty sure that's his Holden road car visible too.

What they show on this website is only 1% of what they have from Weitmann in their archive. Therefor this can only a beginning to access this great images for the public.

Unfortunately the MOTORBUCH VERLAG is and was never keen to sort that Weitmann archive as it takes much time, manpower and....money! And they don`t want to spend that into this project.

Last time I contacted them (about 7 years ago) they told me that all negatives, prints etc. are stored in "...numerous boxes"! They simply did not know where to start....
