Just thought some of you might be interested in this from Marc Priestly.

@f1elvis: @robefc Can't really give any more on Brazil issue. It was a problem with a hydraulic Moog valve, but much analysis never found the fault.

There always seemed to be a suspicion that Lewis had hit the pit lane speed limiter or something and I don't remember it ever being cleared up.

Good article from him here re: the tension in a team leading up to WDC deciders

Cheers

Strange things can happen when the pressure's on. Manipulating buttons and switches is an important part of F1 these days, and when Rosberg was leading the race and defending his position in Austin the pressure on him was enormous, because he knew he needed to win to keep the title battle in his own hands. He flicked the wrong switch and got mugged.

Whatever happened to Hamilton in the decider in 2007, the pressure was certainly on him in a big way, being a rookie in a title fight, and despite the fact that he basically only had to turn up to win (much like this weekend), it all went wrong. Whether it was him or the car, I don't know, but if they couldn't find anything wrong with it after the race... Whatever, the Mclaren was a very reliable car that year, and losing the title has to go down as a cock-up.

Well apparently the team know where the problem was and it was the car not Lewis (unless he has a Moog valve of his own!), although I take the point they didn't find why it was a problem.

I am of the firm believe that McLaren were NOT going a I win the WDC championship. The tyre to canvas tells it all really, no team in there right mind would do that. The gearbox issues topped it.

Hindsight is 20/20, Imateria. McLaren never should have appointed Keith Emerson as electronic systems manager. :)

My attitude is clear and known: the outcome of the 2007 WDC was fixed.
I don't have the proofs but I hope they will surface one day.

Hardly a conspiracy, it was the only option.

Well then this clearly won't be able to stay on topic.
