I have a lot of Penske Racing promo photos which they were kind enough to send to me over a period of a few years, back in the mid-80's.  I first visited their Poole factory just 3 days after Danny Sullivan had won Indy in 1985. So…here are a couple of shots from 1985.

Presumably before they knew that Rick Mears wouldn't be doing the whole season.

Here's one of my all-time favourite racing cars - the 1982 PC10. I don't know if this is in Poole or Reading. Maybe someone will know.

A bit off topic but this years NASCAR Cup winner Kevin Harvick also carried the #4 same as Spinner and Winner Danny, but with Budweiser sponsorship.

Occasional visitor Nigel Beresford might know where the photo of the PC10 was taken.

Thanks for sharing

Yes, I spent many hours doing setups on that surface plate. The horrible red floor is the giveaway that it was taken at the Penske Racing shop in Reading, PA.

Regarding the "horrible red floor," the floor at the old Penske restoration shop at the Michigan International Speedway was red also, but every time I was ever there, it was so spotless you could easily see it could be eaten off of, and so reflective it was mirror-like. In other words, Penske perfect. Curious as to what made it horrible at Reading. Color only, I'm guessing. Thanks and best wishes Nigel.

Yes Brian, I just disliked the red.

Thanks for the comments.  There's more (a LOT more) where these came from.

Just looked at it - definitely a March 86C in the photo - the roll bar gives it away.

Odd to think the turbos came from Holset in Huddersfield - just a few miles up the A62 and over the hill from where I live now.

196mph average speed for 2.666 miles from a standing start would have been .129 mph off Brian Vickers pole time at October's Sprint Cup race at the same venue, then factor in some light rain  :drunk:
