That's disappointing. Although we always knew that OAK were not going to race there forever. It costs about the same as a season in WEC and probably put a lot of strain on the team personnel to do Tudor aswell. And we shouldn't forget that OAK raced in Tudor for marketing reasons.

With ESM just doing the endurance races and Shank being a Pro-Am team, the entry list is starting to look a bit boring. I don't get excited from seeing a bunch of DPs going at it.

OAK said they weren't going to race against customers in the US, and the whole reason they raced this season was to promote both the new Ligier and the Morgan as customer options.

Grand Am 2.0 (or is it 1.5?) is what the series is starting to look like.

Wasn't that inevitable though? I'd say just enjoy it for what it is rather than having over-expectations of what it should be...

Yep. And I'm not too convinced that the 2017 cars will be much better. A bodywork with styling cues will probably mean that they will continue to bop the chassis aswell.

They can't win either way. GTD is being migrated to GT3 spec and the teams' response was to defect to PWC. LMP2 outfits wouldn't be happy until they won every race. Bunch of whining crybabies.

All teams cry about BoP, no matter what they're running. And you're being a bit over-generous in saying they'll only be happy when they win, because they won't stop arguing for BoP breaks just because they're winning. They will still say the BoP is working against them, and that they would have won by a bigger margin if the BoP was right!

But the reality is that if you've got any sense, when the Championship has announced that DP cars won't be eligible beyond 2016, you will simply have to realise that the last thing the organisers will want to do is give the DP cars a BoP advantage. They will err on the side of doing the opposite. They want to minimise the upheaval at the end of 2016, so they don't want teams to defer switching, or even switch in the wrong direction, in order to chase performance in 2015 and 2016 with DP machinery. Coyote / Action Express have worked it out and switched early. They're the smart guys.

I don't see the BoP as USC's worst problem, though. It's avoidable cost. Hopefully when the transitional period is over they will see the sense of just mirroring ELMS regulations.
