I am trying to find out the date of a race meeting held at Calder Park.

I believe it was in 1970. It was the meeting where a car came through

the fence a hit 2 spectators who many years later I found out were ok.

This was the first race meeting I ever went to so that is why I would like

to know the date.

On August 17, 1969 Brian Sampson (Spitfire?) was reported to climb the Armco in the esses, no mention of spectator contact or another car involved...

At the October 17, 1971 meeting Keith Poole was in 'a big six-car mixup' which resulted in him 'retiring in a spectacular fashion' at the first corner, but it doesn't sound like it resulted in any fence-vaulting.

Do you remember anything about the cars and where on the circuit it all occurred?

It was a Sedan car and he came through the fence at 

the last corner leading onto the front straight.
