The Alsatian Jean Moench was one of the two drivers of the French team "Inter Auto Course", alongside Jo Schlesser in 1962. The team purchased two Formula Junior Brabham cars, chassis FJ-4-62 and FJ-5-62.

Previously Jeam Moench had raced a Lotus 18, which was sold to French sculptor and amateur driver Claude Pantzer, who lost his life in that car at Mont Dore Hillclimb in 1962.

According to unconfirmed sources, also Jean Moench would lose his life as a consequence of a racing accident. No information, no date.

Any help?

Was he, perhaps, using an assumed name?

This was common in Europe at that time. And if he'd been killed his real name would be the one noted in the papers.

We had an example of this in Australia about 1964 or so. Kent Price was racing in Australia as 'Ken Milburn' because he didn't want to lose his amateur status in SCCA racing when he returned to America. But when he crashed and was hospitalised his real name came out.
