2015 Marussia F1 design revealed

The incomplete Marussia 2015 Formula 1 car design has been revealed after the teams financial collapse. Shown here as an incomplete wind tunnel model the car which would have been called the Manor MNR1-Ferrari carries over much of the 2014 design.

Looks like the FiA hasn't got it right one more time. It's not that masculine like this years cars but still far from what i call a beautiful nose.

The current nose height is simply too low. It doesn't matter what FiA does, the teams will always try to find a way to get much air beneath the tube.

For me the nose height of the Ferrari F2008 ( Picture ) is perfect. But the FiA did the overkill and lowered the nose tip too much. Newey already said it could be dangerous as the nose is lower than the rear impact absorbing structure. I'm starting to believe that as long as the FiA holds on to this nose regs we will never see beautiful noses. Let's pray that other teams have different solutions. I really hope that we'll see some Merc-like noses (of course the 2014-Merc-nose is illegal in 2015 since it is too wide at the tip..)

Horrible high noses. (Almost) anything before Tyrrell's 019 is good. Anything after is disgusting.

Better still would be front mounted radiators, a-la Eagle-Westlake/Lotus 49/McLaren M7 etc...

You are pretty much correct of course, but I think the 019 Tyrell (and 020) were actually pretty neat considering they are high-nosed and there were still a lot of very pretty cars from the early 90s. Some lovely cars from that era:

'91+'92 Williams Fw14/14B

'92 + 92 March 911

'91 + '92 Jordan 191/192

'92 + '93 + '94 Lotus 107/107b/109

'95 Ferrari 412 T2

'93 + 94 McLaren Mp4/8 and Mp4/9

92 Andrea Moda (yes!)

Note that pretty much all of these have low, or lowish noses. Soon after this due to the Tyrell (and others) cars did indeed get seriously ugly. The last nice one is surely that 1995 Ferrari.

I think the Benetton B191 was much uglier than the Tyrell 020, however, with a horrible high nose and dumpy looking lines:

There as good as gone looks like the investors have bolted the stable due to Marussia owes a total of £31.4m

its been well reported in various news sites about them wanting to much for the team versus the debt

http://www.pitpass.c...-lack-of-offers

Grahame Chilton who is father of driver Max Chilton. Capsicum is owed £3.1m and, according to the documents, provided the team with £7m every year.

The Nick Wirth, Simtek-designed protoype for BMW's proposed entry for the 1990 F1 season looked very good in black indeed.

I don't understand how you guys can even think this way. Front mounted radiators? Argh they're so ugly.

Raised noses are a neutral effect on aesthetics in my book. They don't make cars automatically ugly. Some of the most gorgeous F1 cars are some of the high nose cars of the mid-90s. The 1996 Ferrari was improved so much when they put a high nose on it. That B191 was a bit chubby, but the B192-97 series were lovely with their shark noses.

Speaking of Ferraris, I never liked the dopey looks of the F2001 and after, after the extremely smart lines of the previous few's high noses.

Quite right, it was a great looking car. Loved the dolphin noses of that era. S951 was rather bulkier looking though.

Wow, never heard anyone say they prefer higher noses before.

The 1996 Ferrari - both iterations constitute quite possibly the ugliest Ferrari ever made. It contrasted quite poorly with the 1995 car, which was a real beaut. And low nosed :)

what, you mean this hideous nose was better than this one?

(actually the whole car is ugly as sh*t, but that high nose was the icing on the sh*tpile)

Actually looking at that (as I hadn't looked at that car for quite a while) the high nose one really is even uglier than the low nose version.

Interesting that they choose to use the rbr style tip when it's still unclear if that will be legal or not. Ferrari are rumored to be using the same design. Can't see how anyone could have an issue with its appearance. Looks good to me. 100× better than the finger noses of last year.

Also interesting is that both Ferrari nose(s) bore the number 1.
