The Kaufman statement said they weren't going to race full time but during the truck practice broadcast this morning Waltrip indicated the team was done and he hoped someone would buy the operation turnkey.

Bowyer will be released at the end of the season, no word yet on if he takes 5 Hour Energy to Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Rob Kaufman but not Micheal Waltrip.

I would think Mikey is more believable. I'd have a hard team seeing a team shutter down for an entire year and come back. There's just too many factors going on between sponsorships and employees willing to stick around. It's always a bummer for teams and employees when this happens but its got to be an extra level of depression considering they had started to run pretty well of late. Since Toyota caught back up with its engines and what not, all the Toyota teams have been pretty strong since May/June. Ragan had been pretty impressive I thought.

Did we completely skip Michigan? I mean, I totally understand why but...

Based on the stories of cable TV race ratings hitting new lows nearly weekly it hasnt been just the BB. (One of the last summer weekends for people to get out combined with the track probably wasn't a good combo for Michigan).

Though from what I gather numbers don't always necessarily indicate the full story in context to other events as far as good or bad goes.

The high downforce package was garbage, basically they added the F1 aero problem to an oval. Track position ends up being king. You couldn't make up for an ill handling car with driver skill either.

Oh and Stewart is calling it quits after next season, Bowyer will replace him.
