Does anyone have a picture - even a fairly rough drawing - of the Lotus 49 rear upright casting in profile (i.e. looking from front to rear or vice versa)?  This for a 1/12 scale model I'm working on.  I've a picture of an early [sorry, later] technical drawing, but the outline appears to bear little relationship to the final casting used on R1, R2 (the ones I'm interested in) and, in the close-ups I have, that %*#$ outboard disk and hub obscures part of the upright!

Again, any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Mark

I don't (Though I do a ve a set of plans for an 18 chassis, but that's a different story) but I'm sure I've seen a very nice and detailed 3D computer model of one on a site for virtual modelers. If you could find it, I bet the artist / modeler would have some form of component drawing.

EDIT* here's a link to the image I was thinking of: http://www.virtualr....lotus-49-render

Google image shows plenty photos, though admittedly few are shown in an angle that is easy to scale from

Or, for a mere £800 you could simply buy a pair to measure........ http://racecarsdirec...9_uprights.html (not sure they look exactly 'right', but from the angle of the photo it's hard to tell)

Thanks very much for your ideas.  I'd not thought of looking for computer-rendered images and will continue to look.  It's that bit behind the disk that I hope to 'see' eventually.  I think I've got the general shape but I'm trying to find out how far the uprights protrude behind the hub (and how much is axle) and what the 'neck' of that opening looks like.   The ones for sale - £800 seems fair to me as I'm not in the market - look very much like those in the technical drawing, in Ian Wagstaff's book, of a later '68 version (on the 49B?) and may give a clue about the opening, which presumably takes a set of bearings.
