Hi,

I bought this front right wing endplate for my wall and don't know what car it's from.  Hoping someone out there can help me identify it.  I've tried watching (through fast forward) all the 1998 races and looking at pictures on google to no avail.  It was advertised as a 1998 AP01 race used by Panis.  Any help would be great.  I can take more pictures if it will help.

Sadly I am not at home, where my copies are, but I am fairly certain if you can get a sight of Giorgio Piola's tech books, for the season's Prost appeared as a team, you'll soon find these. They may have only been run during one session, so spotting them in any footage will be luck, but Piola's book's shown examples of nearly all of the tweaks used by each team during each race meeting.

Unfortunately, I don't have the '98 Piola book but the endplate in the photos looks virtually identical to the "default" Prost endplate illustrations in the 1999 edition. There is a different endplate shown in the section on noses but it's only there to show developments that were tried during the season.

The images I've seen of the 1998 Prost usually show a different style of endplate, more wedge-shaped in profile than the one in the first post.

The big clue is the aero shaped indent, that is a camera mount, and not something that would have been on the car at every race, and indeed might not have been used in the race proper. So races where Panis was the OBC carrier might round it down a bit!

Thanks for the replies.  It looks like the AP02 wing shown in the presentation photo provided by a Prost team fan I contacted on the internet.  So perhaps it is a 1999 piece.  The technical director was Bernard Dudot.  I'm  hoping to find a contact email for him (or someone else on the team) to find out exactly when this was used.  The hunt continues
