I was reading a site called Car Build Index and they had an interesting story with pictures of its restoration by a British shop. The story here:

The car was made ready to race at Goodwood Festival of Speed. I didn't realize until I read their story that DeTomaso had let out contracts to two different coachbuilders to build competing cars, the other the Sport 2000 designed by Giugiaro and built by Ghia. Both cars were reportedly sold out of the DeTomaso museum, maybe in 2004. I was just wondering if anybody ever saw a list of prices the cars were offered/sold for.I would think that it was a bit detrimental to the Sport 1000 that it had never actually been in a race anywhere. I was a little puzzled why they chose a BRM engine but I don't know what engine was in it originally. Maybe the BRM was a race ready engine the restoration shop had on hand. The Ghia 2000 used a Kent four of 105 hp as in production 1.5 liter Vallelungas. The Sport 1000 subsequently went to a collector in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who is a collector of prototypes.

So that's my question--what did the works sell it for, if anyone knows and was the sale of prototypes much heralded--ads in newspapers aboard and so forth? Thanks for any info.
