In volume 3 of his BRM History (page 211/212), Doug Nye writes:  "Meanwhile, a little local difficulty involved Tony (Rudd) and the Company Secretary Jim Sandercombe in long negotiation with Stirling Moss and his former manager Ken Gregory over the British Racing Partnership (BRP) Teams's uncomfortable large outstanding account."  He goes on to say that a 1,930cc engine was released and "Stirling tested it in the BRP-BRM instead and called to praised its torque range as being 'exceptionally good'."

This would be in late 1965, a year after BRP withdrew from Formula 1.  I knew that Richie Ginther drove a BRP-BRM entered by Stirling Moss Automobile Racing Team in the South African Grand Prix on 2nd January 1966 but this is the first I have heard of Moss testing the car.

Does anybody know more?
