With great regret I have to report that Pat Carvath - for several seasons Graham Hill's senior mechanic in the BRM team - passed away yesterday at the age of 79. Pat was Tony Rudd's brother-in-law and, intent upon never opening himself up to potential charges of favouritism, Tony used to tell me that he felt Pat's career progress had probably suffered in consequence... Nevertheless I doubt that Pat ever held it against Tony.  He was a capable, popular and important figure. I extend my sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

Very sad and unexpected news indeed, my condolences to the family.

Pat was a passionate talker who made me appreciate BRM history, and he was a lot of fun to work with.

Rest in peace.

Sad news, he was a friend of our family after he and his brother Bob played golf with my Dad and Uncle in the past and he later became a client of ours when he ran his own business.  He also assisted me out of his own pocket, with a metalwork project when I was at school.  I remember him telling me when he saw my designs "Did you draw these? Because if you can draw like that, stick with it as it would be better than having your hands dirty like me".

Passing on my condolences to his family.
