This is'nt exactly technical but hopefully you all have wide tastes in anything cars.

I only just found out about a new car website in the UK called car throttle . It is aimed specifically at 14- 25 yr olds and is successful enough to have $1.5m of ad. revenue already. It was started by a 22 yr old in his parents house in Surrey. Given all the tales of young men no longer being interested in cars thats good news.

However the reason for my post is an utterly USA video from his site which suggests that maybe the decline in young men liking fast cars might be offset by more young women becoming car nuts.

The video is below . Its not so much the  17yr high school girls pulling 150mph 9 second passes on the dragstrip as the fact she picks up her high school chum and the famiy dog in her " Badmaro"  then drives it to the local driv- thru for a Coke.

I know its all straight line speed but the thing is quicker to 150 mph than a McLaren P1 but its her daily driver.

I bet she is popular at school. I suspect her dad built it, not her - he beats her in a drag race with his Ford Ranchero  ( with wheelie bars)

No - just saying I neglected mine - it seems I left off a zero when I specified the hp in her first car.

Well, based on the brake specific fuel consumption, it makes about 1300 hp.

I think I have a little dad-crush. Feel inspired to build something with my little girl.

One of my son's found this webpage which rather explains why the girl's Badmaro looks so very nicely made as well as fast .

I watched bits of Speedweek 13. That car normally aspirated went down the track lap after lap very consistently. She had mum as pit crew!!

9.5s and 150mph is very strong for a street car.

Though the totally silly 'street cars ' are down to mid 6s now, and tow trailers!

Google 'Hot Rod' speed week. Even if like me you are not into drag racing it is an eye opener. True international too,, Valiant Chargers from West OZ, Toranas from Sydney, Vauxhall Viva vans from the UK [yes for real] etc.
