I don't remember any bad calls for Toronto 2013 (the last race Barnhart officiated) and I really don't care enough about who does it to get riled up. There's always going to be moaning about decisions. Charlie Whiting and the F1 stewards get plenty of criticism and with the more competitive nature of Indycar racing, complaints are inevitable.
Barnhart has a history of questionable decisions and inconsistent rulings dating back to the Tony George era. He's in with the Hulmans, (and the likely reason he hasn't been fired) so that means he's in with Miles as well. From what I understand it's a pretty dysfunctional organization and they may not have been able to find anyone more qualified to take the job.

Good thing Will Power is defending champ. If he flips off the officials' booth again this year, he'll be able to claim that he was just reminding Barnhart who is number 1.

Ha ha, seriously? I love it how even in the news story announcing his return, Indycar officials are taking great pains to point out that there are now measures in place to limit the damage from him.

And then he'll probably decide to start the season in June and end it in August...

I just watched this.
A) That was never a block from Helio
B) Edmonton looks like a bonkers track, in a good way!

Barnhart continued to coordinate event security and assist with the safety
Ah that explains why I could just waltz into victory circle and take a cheeky pic of TK a couple years ago..
