So, now that (with the honourable exception of the new Force India) we've seen all of the new cars on track, I think it's time for some almost entirely uninformed speculation. Yes, we've only had one test and yes, the times from that test are almost entirely useless, but hey! What are forums for?

I think almost everybody will expect Mercedes to continue to have an advantage at least at the start of this season, so it should come as no surprise that I'm voting for both their drivers to win races this year. It'll be interesting to see whether Rosberg can deliver on his pledge to make up his race-pace deficit to Hamilton, and I expect this to be a fight played out once again at the sharp end of the grid.

Elsewhere, whatever Newey's pessimism, I expect Red Bull to produce a competitive car once again. I'd be very surprised if Ricciardo didn't win a race, and wouldn't be at all surprised to see him break into the title fight. I expect, though, that with Red Bull having a pretty clear team leader, Kvyat will struggle to match the pace of his teammate and won't be breaking Vettel's youngest-ever GP winner record.

I've also gone for both Ferrari drivers, for two reasons; blind fanboyism, and the wild optimism that a half-decent first test engenders in us all but that we don't like to admit to. Gwarn Seb!

I don't think Mclaren or Williams will be winning races this year. Mclaren were absolutely nowhere last year when they had the best engine; to expect them to have made up their enormous deficit in chassis performance as well as for Honda to produce an instant winner is too optimistic for me in spite of what is probably the best driver line-up on the grid.

Williams meanwhile, are the other way around; I do expect them to have produced a good car, but I don't expect their drivers to be able to deliver. I had the niggling sense all last season that neither of them was really up to winning a race, and I think that'll continue into this season. Also, in the second year of a major rules change things tend to revert to the mean (see 2010) with the big teams moving forwards and the teams with less resources sliding backwards. Sadly, I think this is likely going to happen to Williams as well.

Anyway, thoughts? Let's speculate wildly!

NB. I haven't included Manor in the poll. Whilst I sincerely hope they make it to Melbourne, I don't think that's missing much. Whatever, good luck to them!

Mercedes and Red Bull, and possibly Ferrari if they weren't showboating in Jérez.

McLaren are too far behind schedule and Williams will probably mess it up on the pitwall now and then.

So, Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo and possibly Vettel and Raikkonen.

I expect to have 2014 repeat. If Mercedes drops the ball, either by reliability or drivers, it will be Ricciardo and Red Bull to pick up the pieces. Williams also were running close last season, so can't rule them out.

McLaren and Ferrari? No.

Ferrari and Mercedes. I'm even tempted to say "in that order" but I don't wanna do it.

Maybe no RB win, no Williams win, no McLarenHonda win as sad as it is (the "no McLarenHonda win" part, I mean)...

"Weird" wins by backmarker teams (Jordan in Brazil2003) are difficult to predict. But a real proper bad-car win by ToroRosso (unlike the one in Monza2008), would be great.

Obviously both Mercedes drivers....in addition depending on how strong car Ferrari has really been able to produce, I voted for both Kimi and Vettel...both are fully capable of getting the job done if the car is just good enough. Same goes for Red Bull, its difficult to judge where they'll be, but I would expect Ricciardo to get a win or two again if the car would be anywhere as good as last year. Kvyat? might surprise, but I doubt he get any wins, maybe some podiums. And as for Williams, if opportunity presents itself, I wouldnt be surprised if Bottas managed to win his first race.

so ye:

Definitely going to win: Rosberg, Hamilton

Possibly going to win: Räikkönen, Vettel, Ricciardo, Bottas

If Mclaren-Honda get their issues sorted out, then Alonso possibly, but I highly doubt Mclaren will be able to fight for wins this year, more like learning year for them.

Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo and Vettel are who I'd bet on.

Outside chance for Bottas, Massa, Alonso, Raikkonen, Kvyat and Button, in that order.

I believe the McLaren is fast and Alonso may deliver the goods very late in the year after many DNFs.

Both Mercs, Williams(-es?), Ferraris, and McLarens. Both Macca drivers will win a race apiece later on in the season.

I could see the three of last year winning races, Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo.

After that it starts to get a bit more up in the air, Vettel had the second best car last season and didn't manage to win, so short of Ferrari making rapid progress in the off season I don't see it happening for him. Raikkonen the same.

Bottas and Massa are a big maybe. But you would expect Red Bull to surpass Williams.

McLaren look in trouble, so even with Alonso I don't see them winning.

There is my complete guess at the topic.

So he has. Vettel dropped it in 2014 (if you ignore his few 2007 races).

Both Merc drivers - obviously.

RB - if the car is there or thereabouts, Ricciardo could win another race or two if Merc slip up.

Ferrari - both drivers in Ricciardo's situation, whether it's Vettel or Raikkonen who wins for Ferrari this year I don't know, but there's a good chance one of them will win at least once.

Williams - podiums but no wins again. Maybe in a crazy race - a win for Bottas?

McLaren - winless.

Out of the others, Hulkenberg might win a race this year, but it won't be in a Force India, it would be in a Porsche 919.

I voted for Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo, Vettel and surprisingly Kvyat. I just have a feeling the kid will get lucky this year after seeing a solid performance in testing. The car if as fast as last season looks like it could be good for a win or three.

I would have liked to have voted for Alonso but at this point in time I am not yet convinced by the Honda unit. I hope to be proven wrong because I want a triple crown added to his tally in the next few years. :)

Lewis, Rosberg, Bottas, Vettel and Kimi.

...wild card is more difficult. My heart say any car from Force India or Sauber, but logical it would be a RedBull (Yes, I consider them as wild card due to the Renault engine...).

Hamilton, Rosberg, Ricciardo, Kvyat

Kvyat is a great qualifier, if he can nab a pole at a Hungary or a Monaco, he'll be well on his way.

Ferrari are too far off, Bottas isn't good enough.

Boring prediction but Hamilton and Rosberg to win the majority between them.  Ricciardo and Vettel to win a couple with Alonso as my wildcard to win at some point later in the season.

Although I don't see it happening, I'd love Maldonado to win again - even if it's just to see this forum go into Meltdown!

For mine:

9 Hamilton
5 Rosberg
3 Ricciardo
2 Vettel
1 Bottas

Ferrari/Vettel will be the ones to beat Mercedes on pure speed, Red Bull/Riccardo will beat them on strategy and tyre life, and Bottas will win the one messy race.

Well...

Hamilton and Rosberg for sure (© F.Massa).

Then come others, who can capitalize if any of the Mercedes trip over themselves. Although it is not impossible in some conditions somebody else might race against Merc on merit this year as well. Ricciardo, Bottas and Vettel are most likely beneficiaries of gaining a race win. Ricciardo and Vettel particularly in the wet. Kvyat, Raikkonen and Massa are slightly longer shots, but not ruled out either.

Others? Who knows. Alonso, Grosjean, anybody else, if their car is really good on some circuit and everything falls their way. Remember, how close was Perez to winning in Canada last year in the Force India. But I wouldn't bet on it right now.

Hamilton and Rosberg are obviously going to win a few times. Ricciardo, Vettel and Raikkonen (in that order) are strong candidates as well, would be a huge surprise if one of them didn't win to be honest. Kvyat will have a chance too for sure, will be interesting to see how he goes. The wild card is definitely McLaren, if/when they get their issues sorted I can see both Alonso and Button winning. But most likely in the latter part of the season, if at all. Williams is a bit of an enigma, but both Bottas and Massa are obviously capable of winning if the car is there. Somehow I don't see them being as strong as 2014, but let's wait and see.

So far out of 213 votes, 17 people have decided that Lewis will not win this year. Unless you misunderstood the poll, you are blind or stupid. You could go down the bookies and probably get very good odds on Lewis or Nico NOT winning a race this season.

Voted, Lewis, Nico, Seb, Bottas and Daniel.

Interesting that you seem to have no faith whatsoever in Kimi's abilities to win if Ferrari is indeed able to produce a car that would allow Vettel to win those 2 races....but it seems that's quite popular opinion on this board, many people vote for Vettel, but not having any confidence for Kimi, I quess after 2014 so many people have written him completely off....oh well, my quess is that these people are in for a surprise ;) I think both drivers are fully capable of getting a win or two if the car is up for it and Mercedes drivers dont finish the race.

You're right. I'm sure it was 19 when they published the 2015 schedule, but now on f1.com it's 20 including Germany. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Voted Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel and Ricciardo. I'm expecting Mercedes to easily sweep most of the races, and sounds likely for me that the Red Bulls and Ferraris will be in the best position to pick up the rare scraps - and I'm expecting a dominant driver in both those teams.

Hamilton and Rosberg will win most of the races Vettel will likely be the 3rd most driver to score a win this season. Vettel will waste Raikkonen but Ferrari will still have the inferior car to Mercedes so Hamilton - Rosberg - Vettel in that order.

Waiting to see more of Red Bull too and see what they can do.

Well I guess you have to consider the possibility that some voters have not realized they can vote for multiple drivers and have thus only picked one.

The poll of course lures posters to do a prediction that is not predicted by common sense... I for myself voted Max Verstappen. Not that I really expect it, far from it, but it would be so awesome if it came true!

PS: In a strange way, it would also be awesome if Mercedes (and hence Nico and Lewis) would not win a race. I wish them no ill, it would just be nice in a weird way.
