OK, in seriousness the lack of a Ford banner on the Pepsi Max entries is disappointing.
Ford
Note: Only one Jack Daniels car now.
Penske/Ambrose #17 DJR FG X... Note two chassis to be used one with DJR designation and the newer one with DJRTP chassis numbering.
nismo Note: GTR at the Bathurst 12 hour

Negative Ghostrider, just saw the news item and couldn't see any thread for 2015 yet.
FWIW, I flagged at many V8 rounds all over Oz...its not a bad series, can be a tad boring trackside...but I have no axe to grind

Wheels Magazine are speculating a press conference that has been called for the test day will be for Lexus entering in 2017 with their RC F coupe, which is being pushed in a global motorsport effort.

Whincup got bit, by a snake, in Australia. Bugger.

Hmm... not sure about this one. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing great about it either. Why ditch last year's colours?
Lexus Safety Car. :raises eyebrow: Seeing as there is ALREADY an international-spec Lexus GT3 that could have been deployed to championship winning success (easily & with a modest budget, unlike the expensive & difficult Supercar series) this is a win for V8 Supercars over that Aus GT mob.

I get a feeling of decline about this series, a move to cable TV just reduces its viewship and the classical manufacturers are leaving. It will need to reinvent itself if it wants to survive.

The new Ford Falcon looks terrible compared to the old model.
Old model least had that look where as this one is just 'meh'.

Only Ford have pulled the plug. Nissan has increased its support and we have the strong rumors of Lexus joining the fold.

Any future V8 Supercars entry from Lexus will come fitted with a 5.0 litre V8, regardless of the category’s move to open its engine rules from 2017.

Dibs that 888 or PRA or Team Penske (assuming they run the Lexi) will soon dump this idea, if it's obvious that a turbo V6 is more competitive^.
^ Given the more aggressive torque and power delivery at low rpm I can't see how the turbo won't be better.... Or how it's even possible to make it behave like a linear naturally aspirated engine

Sorry if already posted. Not V8SC, but it involves a V8SC driver...

Tony D'Alberto remains in the hospital. I met Tony when V8SC came to Austin. Very nice young man. Hoping for a speedy recovery for him!

Plus as far as this impossible task of engine parity is concerned, the Turbos will be at an additional advantage come high altitude rounds, particularly Bathurst.

F1 (V8) demo at Clipsal 500
http://www.speedcafe...ar-clipsal-500/
Might be worth going after all, to see what the fuss is about V8 engined F1 cars.
The 25 car grid and high ticket prices are a major turn-off but with the F1 demo and Cold Chisel concert, might just be worth the effort.

Wish I could see more of this championship. Like I said in the best touring car thread, I definitely think that the V8s are still the best touring car championship in the world right now. The only complaint I would have is that all the races are on the other side of the world to me!
Have to say as well that the V8s certainly know how to produce nice liveries. BTCC (and indeed F1) teams could learn a lot. Really liking that Ambrose livery. But who did it better, V8 Supercars or DTM?

Question: does the V8 Superview subscription include video-on-demand race replays? I'm thinking of making the jump but must rely on VOD to watch due to the ungodly time zone difference.
WHO ****ing KNOWS!!! Jesus this riles me up, why are so many web sites so utterly ****ing useless???? They have FINALLY sorted out the site itself but there's no mention of replays on Superview or any sort of contact. I even asked them on twitter and no response.
Live is no good to me, it's always overnight.
idiots, ****ing idiots.

"When do the full race replays appear?""Generally the replays take between 2 and 3 hours to compress and upload and will be available from the schedule page."

Lexus to join series dumb idea, with the dynamic of performance cars available to middle income earners set to change modestly with Ford and Holden's demise in Australian manufacturing any change to the series needs to exclude vehicles made of unobtanium, Which mullet headed bathurst goer really cares about the Lexus? Now one might say well the demographic should change and be just as successful, it simply won't. There are people in Australia who want to go and see a tin top racing series however they still want to be able to buy the bloody things.
Coupes
Mazda RX8
Nissan 370z
Holden Camaro
Ford Mustang
Mercedes "who cares"
Volvo Coupe XC
BMW "Who Cares"
Toyota 86 Sports Coupe
Subaru BRZ
Volkswagen CC
Plenty to choose from and not all from Unobtanium, the series needs to think through to what new performance car tertiary industries will flourish if any in the post two make era of muscle cars. It can be successful if the cars used are within reasonable reach of the average punter.

Well looks like another year of no penalties for Whincup. Clearly creeping in the box before McLaughlin jumped, no review.
