Also, how is he going to get better without driving the car? I thought they restricted the testing years ago. Sounds like he is just going to retire and do a few enduros to finish off his career. He doesn't sound like he plans to race in 2016.

This is why they should have entered with two cars, regardless of the cost. There was just no way to properly assess where Ambrose and the car was without an experienced teammate in a 2nd car.

Given the advantage Mercedes have in F1, the best way to dominate is to start early. Mercedes were pouring megadollars into turbo PU development some 4 years before the regulations began.
Does anyone know if V8 Supercars have announced the detailed regulations of the V6 turbocharged engines yet? They should to give the teams the chance to build and test their V6 turbo engines.
The best way to win is to start NOW.
Nissan, Holden et al have rocks in their head if they don't start building their 2017 V6 turbos right now and stick in it an unregistered V8 supercar on hankooks or a sports sedan (it doesn't matter, as long as race conditions are replicated) clocking up thousands of laps.
The key is in the preparation.
Heads-up: Mr Jose Ferndadez already has a head-start on this whole 6-cyl turbo v8 supercar malarky, though Ford will be unlikely to run the Barra straight six
< I must say it looks and sounds pretty good, and if the Supercars looked and sounded like that, I wouldn't mind at all.

There has to be more to the story
No way he comes back, does one round and one tyre demo run then pulls the pin...

Will Davison just won the third Perth race for Erebus Motorsport.
I absolutely love seeing that team win.
And the championship looks a bit tighter than the last two years.

Great news for V8SC and their fans in the region. Not so great for U.S. fans hoping to get them back to North America after the COTA debacle. Man, I would love to see V8SC at CGV, esp if paired with F1 there. Talk about a great motorsport weekend.

Yep. But there's more to it than just that.

Incredible scenes at Bathurst today;
It normally snows on the track every year or two but this level of covering is quite unique.

Gold Coast 600 going on.
Unsafe release for Winterbottom, he got hit by a Holden Racing Team car. The right front has to be repaired plus penalty for unsafe release.

Well, congrats to Mark Winterbottom - thoroughly deserved the Championship this year.
Next year will be interesting with Whincup and Van Gis as teammates...

Frosty has taken over the Bottle O sponsorship and they released the livery today.
Pepsi has gone completely.
I agree with DS27 on the SVG v Whincup being team mates next year.
We more or less know that SVG doesn't back down and neither does Whincup for that matter.
I'm going to take an early guess and say SVG might win that party.

I think it will end with tears. I'd put a few $$$ on Mostert to win the series while the 888 cars clash.

Whincup has six (I lost count!) championships, SVG has zero. Surely this means Whincup is better?

Over a full year i suspect WHincup will come out on top, though Giz to run the odd absolute blinder and leaves jaws agape.

Mostert was super impressive most of the time, so hope he has another good year.
Also hope Volvo sort out their issues, as Scott could be a real challenger.
