Hey - I am considering a scratch build of a PC case - rather than modifying a normal rectangular PC case.
My idea at this stage is an F1 engine - not all of it obviously, but the main block and some of the head elements etc.
I am having trouble finding dimensions for an engine, i.e. F2004 engine - does anyone have a source or ideas on where to find this? I am interested in the external dimensions so I can mock some stuff up, do some basic CAD work etc. I obviously don't need detailed internal specs as it's just a shell :)
Any help would be awesome

Why not use a real car engine. It would look a lot better. Probably not a real F1 engine unless you can find one at a good price.

Here is a mock up which looks reasonable

A real engine weighs heaps, and isn't exactly roomy inside

An inline engine (while not as exotic looking) would better fit the packaging bill - how about a BMW turbo - the most powerful F1 engine of all time?
