problem is that Monaco (i've been to a couple F1 races there) is a very tight track...with basically no overtaking areas.

You're not Ted Kravitz are you?

Speaking if street circuits, it wouldn't work at Monaco, but Norisring, OTOH, would be out of this world.

I don't agree that it wouldn't work at Monaco. Monaco is FIA homologated to international category A level. F1 hasn't had too many problems there. Whether it would be especially entertaining is another matter, but it could certainly be done.

I do agree wholeheartedly re. Norisring, though. That would be awesome too. I've seen a lot of Lamborghinis Trofeo races on a lot of different tracks, and for spectating, Norisring was easily the best. Sportscars look absolutely fantastic on street tracks, and watching from behind the stone wall at the exit if S-Kehre is a real eye-opener, even with Lamborghinis or DTM cars. Having prototypes there would be fantastic. Not sure if the run-off at the Grundig hairpin is adequate as it's an extremely fast approach, but I suspect it would be considered fine because of the low apex speed at that corner.

Theyd have to do some work with the steering, but I think it could be done. The only thing Id change is getting rid of the chicane and having a longer run from the tunnel. Theres other street circuits Id rather see though. Baku actually would be awesome with that huge straight.

With the recent removal of a couple of the trees from the central reservation of the harbourside road, that would now be possible without introducing too much of a violent kink where the Nouvelle chicane currently is. But it would make the entry to Tabac incredibly interesting if, when they arrived there, they'd been on full throttle since the exit of Portier!

That'd be about a third of the lap (by distance) at continuous full throttle, wouldn't it? It would give the prototypes an easy(ish) opportunity to blast past the GTs, I guess.

Baltimore... racing over train tracks... yea, that was brilliant...

living only 20 miles away, I can't describe the disappointment that it didn't survive..

Andretti autosport did it as well as could be done, but there wasn't enough room, to either race or walk around to the businesses...

as for THIS idea???

Apart from the fact if such LMP1s could get around Monaco's bumps and other track surface, if they want to add the normally slower LMP2s and GTs as well, no way that can work.

besides that, Pittlane is too crampy for 22 cars, let alone for over 35 cars.

I don't even want to think about 6 hours of potential dangers due to refuelling cars. Not that there will be left that many cars after the first laps and at the end of the demolition derby.

Monaco as an event is a showcase for F1 but as a race it's the first on my list of races to be drpped as soon as possible.
