Perhaps this should go in that confessions thread we used to have, but I really loved the F2012. The nose got a lot of criticism, but I thought it looked menacing, like a shark:

Fully expect to be in the minority here  :D

How can so many be so wrong? Nothing in the last 20 years deserves mention on this list.

The correct answer (and I can't believe I'm the first to post it) is obvious: Eagle-Weslake Mk1 (T1G).

Case closed. You can all go home now.

That is actually a very very very pretty car.

Not bad, but I prefer this Walrus over your shark.  :p

None, Lost Boys was a IT company in its own right that was owned by Michiel Mol (later the owner of the Spyker F1 team).

I know that beauty is relative and all that, but these choices make me wonder what your tastes in women/men/whatever are like:

Ferrari F2008

Luca_Badoer_2008_test.jpg

(I'm only assuming WDC and not WCC, possibly not the most correct though)

Looks like it barrel-rolled into the ugly tree.

+1

Shared with the Benetton B193

F1 car equivalent of having a double chin

Well, to be a bit more correct with my previous post, I'd like to replace the F2008 with this:

BMW Sauber F1.08

Nick_Heidfeld_2008_test.jpg

Looks like the designer was drunk and just couldn't. put. the. pen. down.

I always loved the Prost cars, specially this one, the Prost AP01:

Maybe without the stupid sidepod wings, but no car with those things could be called genuinely pretty. F1 car equivalent of an otherwise pretty girl with really bad cystic acne.

Without the sidepod wings, I would give a vote to the AP01

I can't see any grooved tyre car as pretty. Thinking about those tyres makes me angry. Can't believe they lasted 10 years.

It always gets me when I see a picture of the ones that had one of the grooves painted to denote compound.

That was the best solution that the pinnacle of motorsport could come up with...

Back on topic; I rather liked the Williams walrus, and all of the cars from the insane '07/'08 seasons where wings were sprouting from everywhere (as with the BMW above).

They couldn't race for toffee, but they looked fast...

It's not that I have high standards, it's just that I have some standards. ;)

I agree that the Prost cars are nice, I always liked that shade of blue they were painted, but just not with those wings.

<Honda RA107>

Well, if we leave aerodynamics aside and rate only livery, I also like the Honda RA107. Something completely different and refreshing to what we have been used to. And the livery was properly done. If Earth, then everything is Earth! And no sponsor logos on it.

The RA108 was a half-arsed effort compared to that. A mix of earth theme and "livery". Not good.

The Benettons of the nineties & Renaults of the noughties (I even liked the ING ones with the odd colour scheme), Jags and Jordans.

I have to say I also like it. Nice simple car with nice simple wings - the beginning of the aerodynamics/wings era.

If we're talking about pre-winged cars like the T1G, I think the buck starts and stops here-

Ferrari-312-67-F1_2.jpg

I've had the pleasure of seeing this particular chassis (a '68 312F1) run at historic events 3 or 4 times now, and it absolutely sings. I love this car. The '66 and '69 cars had the exhaust tubing outside the V, but the '67 and '68 cars with the spaghetti noodles routed up through the middle of the engine in one beautiful mass...

And just because... here they both are-

eagle-t1g-ferrari-312-68-good-2012.jpg

Hard to pick a winner.

McLaren MP4/1c.

The first car to have a 'coke bottle' rear. Groundbreaking and beautiful like most cars designed by John Barnard.
