Reading that two Porsche GT drivers will get to drive the third 919 at Le Mans this summer, a thought crossed my mind; are there any gentlemen drivers among the LMP1-cars?
I remember reading somewhere a while back that WEC requires one gentleman driver per team? I suppose that's not true anymore, but is it all professionals nowadays?
It would be pretty insane/amazing to be able to buy a seat in a 919 (provided you're good enough).

It depends on the class
LMP1: No bronze drivers
LMP2: At least one bronze or silver driver
GT-Pro: No limitations
GT-Am: At least one bronze and one bronze or silver driver

As for factory GT drivers, they are all rated as Gold or Platinum anyway.

All drivers in LMP1 last year were either Platinum or Gold as far as I'm aware. As said above, Bronze drivers are not allowed in LMP1, and sticking a regular Silver driver in a highly-competitive LMP1 field is like showing up with a pointed stick at a cannon fight.

And it shows, the LMP2 "Ligier" got shunted by a pay driver at Daytona this year.
