Ambulance on the track, I hope Fernando is OK.

as they were for 6 last years, looked to be 3th or 4th best, last year after winter testing they looked to be the 7th
I know what you mean, but, nevertheless, it seems different this time. For example, no more bossy Dr. Marko comments during winter testing claiming that they could go easily much faster than anybody, if they wanted. I mean didn't he say such things (in 2011 (?)) when they were only third or fourth fastest.

Strange place for a crash, or he must have spun on the exit curb of T3 and flown right?

when was the last time Alonso crashed an F1 car? I can't remember? Spa 2010?

I'm pretty sure the ambulance is standard procedure for just about any event during testing and most sources so far suggest he is OK. Certainly the end of testing for McLaren though and a real set back for them.

I remember him going of at Silverstone a couple of times in the last couple of years, and he damaged his front wing from what I recall..

Ron and Jenson will be happy about that... as if they didn't have enough problems already.

Strange place to crash. Maybe run wide on astro turf and turned the car towards the inside wall? Other than that maybe a rear suspension/rear wing failure?

.@alo_oficial crashed in the end of turn 3 (the 'curvone'). The car has gone back and crashed into the wall #F1
The circuit data feed says Alonso lost control on the way out of Turn 3 and went across the track into the inside wall. #F1

If you look at the video, it doesn't seem as a standard procedure, but hopefully, it is nothing serious.

there's a special place in hell for the uploader. uploads in vertical AND in wrong orientation...
seems like a weird place to crash, especially for an experienced guy like Alonso. suspension failure?

Or the track could still be damp in that area?

Car looks (as best as I can tell) mostly intact so not sure on what happened. Maybe straight backwards and hit squarely on the rear? May not show much damage but still be a heavy hit.

Now, at the press room, they are saying that Fernado felt sick and he just parked the car...
The car doesn't look damaged.

All wheels are on the car, the rear wing, most odd, high G lateral impact? Hope it's not a debris issue

Reports now that Alonso didn't crash and instead stopped along the track as he was feeling ill. Bit of confusion right now! #F1

Edit: just seen reports of Alonso feeling unwell - would make more sense than high speed crash.

Journalist on the circuit are saying that he didn't crash the car, the car suddleny went to the grass and brushed the wall for some meters until stopped. I wonder if Fernando lost consciousness or something like that for a brief moment.
