Stop with this fanboyism. Kimi won the title, winning 6 races, even with 2 technical failures in that year was WAY ahead of Massa in points going into Brasil GP. Massa didnt gift him anything in last race, as Kimi took more fuel in first pit stop and drove 3 more laps with little fuel (after Massa pitted) doing fastest laps and overtaking him in the pits. If Kimi had not 2 technical failures, McLaren situation would be irrelevant as he would win the title on his own. You also seem to forget how fuel in quali played the role, but i"m not suprised you forgot that (usual situation with fanboys, forgetting facts and twisting everything to suit them).
Massa couldnt even win the title with gifted SPA win and gifted second place from Kimi in China.

Kimi is faster than Massa. End of story. :smoking:

Not to forget the points losses for Raikkonen 2008 in Canada (fighting seriously for the win before he was innocently crashed out), France (gifted win for Massa) and Silverstone (wrong tyre decision by the team).

Really good car plus complete team support and drivers like Raikkonen win the title (2007). Really good car plus complete team support and drivers like Massa don't win the title (2008).

Still, the McLaren version of Raikkonen was somewhat more convincing (2003, 2005) than the Ferrari-version of him.

Not sure how true this is but

This getting crazy now...

1 test less, 1 wind tunnel, limited use of CFD, homologations...

He wasn't fighting for the win until the safety car where he passed Hamilton in the pits, Hamilton was in cruise mode whilst Raikkonen closed on the second-place Kubica. At Silverstone he would not have won on pace since the rain got heavier and his pace with new inters wasn't as good as a few other drivers, plus having a couple of spins IIRC

You hold a very simplistic view point. Fact is that both drivers are in the same league as each other, it worked out for one more than the other. It could easily be argued that had the 2007 car had suited Massa more then he would have won the championship that year. Another fact is that both years the Ferrari was the faster car overall, but reliability, mistakes and faster McLaren drivers distorted this.

Maybe he forgot about Kimi technical failures in 2007, but at the same time you forget that Massa in 2008 lost 10 easy points with the engine failure in Hungary (there was only 3 laps left) and probably another 10 points in Singapore (he was on fire that weekend, started from pole, comfortably led the race until the pit-stop disaster).

As a Ferrari fan I say that Kimi deserved the title in 2007 and that it wouldn't be a scandal if Massa had won the 2008 one.

Sorry for the OT.

At this rate F1 will eventually be called Formula MacGyver because some day the teams will eventually be asked to build cars from a swiss army knife, a matchbox and a bit of chewing gum.

Yeah, but that would've meant until 2014, a Hamilton with no title compared to a WDC Massa. And that would've been one of the biggest injustices as Hamilton is almost infinitely better than Massa.

Kimi could have won the WDC much earlierin his career  if wasn't given a gimp of a car by Mclaren

Valtteri Bottas explained to TS, why times/track is faster during winter testing, when compared to the times  during gp:

" During the gp-weekends, there lots of other classes driving as well, so there is lots of different kind of rubber on the tarmac. On tests, we drive many laps and because of that, the track is in good condition. Track is also faster, because the weather is cooler than during the actual time of the gp. Also during the gp-weekends it is hot, so that the tyres won´t last that well,  the qualifying lap till the end of the lap."

Gazzetta considering that based on Barcelona testing the "seconds" in the teams i.e. Rosberg, Räikkönen and Bottas were showing a slight edge over their team mates.

Not sure exactly how that slight edge could be determined given it's just testing, but Kimi has certainly seemed to be far more comfortable than last year and seems pretty happy with the car. Hopefully all 3 teams will be close to each other and we'll get some great battles (and hopefully McLaren will be in there too!)

Since when Bottas is seen as "second"?

Tests are tests. Race simulations on different days are not really comparable. We all will the the truth in 2 weeks...

Right that is essentially circular...

I'm probably a bit late with these but I haven't had chance before now to put some clips together.
Random clips of all cars at various points around the circuit:

All cars at Turn 1 to 3
(The Lotus caught my attention for 2 reasons - the 1st being the small puff of smoke as it goes through turn 2 and the 2nd its glowing brakes at the end of the straight. Neither of these things was a one off and I didn't spot any of the other cars do the same during the time I was down at turn 1).
